Main Line Parent, an online community and quarterly print magazine is hosting its 2nd Annual Mom's Night Out for Mother's Day in Radnor, Pennsylvania. In advance of this fun, female-filled evening, we sat down w/ Client Relations Director, Pamela Badolato to learn more.

GIRLS
JUST
WANNA
HAVE
FUN
•
Forget
the
flowers
and
Sunday
Brunch.
The
hottest
mom
and
mom-‐to-‐be
gift
this
year
is
a
ticket
to
Main
Line
Parent’s
Mom’s
Night
Out
for
Mother’s
Day,
May
9th
from
6-‐10
p.m.
at
Radnor
Valley
Country
Club.
A
terrific
excuse
for
busy
moms
to
indulge
in
a
bit
of
luxurious
“me-‐time,”
this
annual
event
features
a
sit-‐down
dinner,
fashion
show,
live
and
silent
auction,
a
luxurious
VIP
room
(for
makeup
and
hair
touch-‐ups
and
hand
massages),
and
a
chance
to
be
named
“Most
Stylish
Mom
on
the
Main
Line.”
What’s
not
to
love?
And
because
Main
Line
Parent’s
staff
excels
at
multi-‐tasking
(it
is
run
by
mommies
after
all),
“doing
good”
will
also
be
part
of
the
evening’s
festivities.
Here
to
tell
you
all
about
this
premier
event
is
Pamela
Badolato,
MLP’s
Client
Relations
Director.
You
better
pay
attention,
because
she’s
got
a
lot
to
share
about
this
special
evening
and
the
positive
impact
Main
Line
Parent
has
had
on
the
community
both
on
and
offline.
•
What
was
the
initial
impetus
for
creating
Mom's
Night
Out
for
Mother's
Day?
Last
year
Sarah
Bond,
MLP
Founder
and
CEO,
wanted
to
host
some
type
of
fundraiser
for
The
Birth
Center,
specifically
their
support
group
for
Breastfeeding
moms,
and
the
Mom's
Night
Out
for
Mother's
Day
was
born!
I
love
how
she
was
able
to
get
so
much
community
support
from
local
moms
and
small
businesses
to
come
together
in
support
of
this
great
place
for
women.
•
How
does
MNO
help
promote
other
businesses
w/
in
the
community?
All
of
the
businesses
that
donate
to
the
silent
auction
or
become
sponsors
of
MNO
receive
promotion
for
in
exchange
for
their
donation
via
social
media
tagging
on
the
dedicated
MNO
Facebook
page,
the
MNO
Silent
Auction
preview
page
that
describes
each
location
as
well
as
provide
links
to
the
business's
webpage
and
FB
page
(if
applicable),
AND
is
listed
as
the
donor
with
a
description
of
their
donation
in
our
event
guide
for
the
evening.
I
have
attended
events
where
the
donations
are
listed,
but
the
business
is
not
credited
so
this
is
a
unique
promotion
available
to
MNO
donors.
2. •
What
types
of
social
media
tools
does
MLP
use
to
get
the
word
out?
Let’s
just
say,
Facebook,
Twitter,
Pinterest
and
email
marketing
are
a
mom’s
best
friend.
•
What
are
some
of
the
most
exciting
auction
items
this
year?
We
have
some
amazing
donations
from
local
spas
and
yoga/Pilates
instructors,
as
well
as
treatments
from
medical
spas!
Our
most
valuable
donation
so
far
is
the
$5600
orthodontic
back
from
Dr.
Catherine
Foote.
•
How
has
MNO
helped
working
mothers
connect
to
their
stay-‐at-‐home
peers?
Mom's
Night
Out
is
an
inclusive
event.
Each
of
us
“staffers”
has
a
very
unique
working
situation;
we
pride
ourselves
on
being
able
to
relate
to
all
moms.
By
hosting
this
event
early
in
the
evening
on
a
weeknight
we
are
attempting
to
support
valuable
weekend
family
time
regardless
of
employment
status.
•
What
are
some
of
the
highlights
of
this
year's
event?
I
would
say
our
biggest
highlights
this
year
are
our
sponsors,
and
our
VIP
room.
This
year's
sponsors
include
Philadelphia
&
Main
Line
Event
Planners.
Their
team
has
been
amazing
to
work
with
and
we
could
not
have
pulled
this
event
off
without
them.
Our
fashion
show
sponsor,
Van
Cleve
Collections,
is
an
icon
of
the
Main
Line.
We
are
very
proud
to
list
them
as
our
partner
for
this
event.
Antoinette's
Day
Spa
&
Salon
could
not
have
been
any
more
generous
in
their
sponsorship
of
full
hair
and
makeup
for
the
event,
their
additions
to
our
gift
bags
for
all
guests,
as
well
as
providing
the
hair
and
makeup
touch
up
station
and
hand
massages
for
our
VIP
room.
They
will
also
be
hosting
a
pre-‐event
night
out
for
the
staff
of
MLP,
the
event
planners,
and
our
models!
Bryn
Mawr
Hospital
has
also
jumped
in
as
a
sponsor
and
will
be
providing
us
with
a
speaker
to
address
our
audience.
We
are
very
lucky
to
have
Dr.
Linna
Li
speak
about
breast
health
and
mammogram
guidelines.
Our
VIP
Room
will
include
a
complimentary
glass
of
champagne,
special
additions
to
their
gift
bags,
a
Candy
Bar
(sponsored
by
Philadelphia
&
Main
Line
event
planners),
as
well
as
the
amenities
sponsored
by
Antoinette's.
•
If
you
could
choose
one
take-‐away
for
guests,
what
would
it
be?
I
hope
that
our
guests
take
away
a
sense
of
community,
of
sisterhood
among
mothers
of
different
ages,
experiences
and
stages
of
life.
As
women
and
mothers
there
is
so
much
we
can
all
learn
from
each
other,
and
the
more
moms
we
meet
and
talk
to,
the
better
mothers
we
become.
•
What
does
this
year's
Most
Stylish
Mom
have
to
look
forward
to?
Any
tips
on
how
beat
the
competition?
This
year's
most
stylish
mom
will
be
treated
to
a
fabulous
gift
certificate
to
Antoinette's
Day
Spa
&
Salon.
My
tip
would
be
to
keep
it
modern,
keep
it
fresh,
and
keep
it
natural!
3. •
If
Mom
can
only
sneak
out
for
a
bit,
which
part
of
the
event
should
not
be
missed?
Definitely,
the
silent
auction;
not
only
are
there
great
donations
that
people
will
be
nearly
fighting
over
(have
you
heard
about
the
wardrobe
consultation
from
the
personal
shopper,
or
the
non-‐surgical
face-‐lift
from
a
local
aesthetician?)
but
I
imagine
some
of
these
donations
will
be
gotten
for
a
pretty
good
deal.
And,
once
you
come
for
the
silent
auction
and
cocktail
hour,
you'll
be
having
so
much
fun
that
there's
no
way
you'll
want
to
leave
before
dinner!
Read:
Call
your
babysitter
now,
or
make
sure
your
partner
is
home
from
work
in
time
to
put
the
“littles”
to
bed.
•
How
does
MNO
foster
positive
female
relationships?
While
checking
people
in
at
the
welcome
table
last
year
I
met
a
lot
of
guests
who
were
attending
with
their
moms,
their
mothers
in
law,
their
sisters,
cousins,
best
friends,
etc.
Mother's
Day
is
for
moms
of
any
age,
and
so
is
this
event.
I
know
this
year
of
one
guest
who
has
purchased
tickets
for
her
two
daughters
to
share
this
special
night
with
her
(they're
over
21!).
Events
that
are
dedicated
to
mothers
are
special
because
it's
not
often
that
moms
take
the
time
out
for
themselves
to
be
pampered-‐
and
even
less
often
that
they
get
to
dress
up
on
a
Wednesday
and
take
a
walk
down
the
red
carpet
with
photographers
snapping
their
pictures!
•
How
much
money
did
the
event
raise
last
year?
Our
first
MNO
event
at
the
swanky
Radnor
Hotel
included
a
silent
auction,
raffle,
open
bar
with
passed
hors
d’oeuvres,
and
the
fashion
show.
We
had
200+
attendees,
with
about
40
of
them
buying
tickets
at
the
door,
and
raised
$5000
that
was
donated
to
The
Birth
Center
and
its
support
programs
for
new
and
breastfeeding
mothers.
•
What
is
your
goal
this
year?
We
hope
that
via
our
abundant
offerings:
open
bar,
3-‐course,
sit-‐down
dinner,
silent
and
live
auctions,
fashion
show,
VIP
room
and
desirable
auction
prizes,
that
we
will
exceed
last
year's
revenue.
MLP's
goal
for
Main
Line
Charities
is
to
continue
ongoing
support
of
local
projects
taken
on
by
parenting
groups
and
entrepreneurs,
as
well
as
instituting
a
scholarship
for
local
high
school
students
this
fall.
•
What
other
mom
events
can
we
look
forward
to
in
2012?
MLP’s
team
thinks
big,
and
we
plan
on
having
as
many
moms’
events
as
we
can,
as
well
as
fitting
in
an
event
or
two
for
dads!
We
had
an
amazing
turnout
for
our
first-‐ever
Expectant
Moms
Mingle
in
January,
and
many
requests
from
parents
and
local
businesses
for
a
repeat
in
2012.
We
get
requests
very
frequently
from
clients
who
have
become
friends
to
host
events
at
their
locations.
After
the
successful
reviews
and
turnout
from
the
Main
Line
Early
Childhood
Education
Fair
we
have
also
put
into
works
the
Main
Line
Private
School
Expo
to
take
place
in
October.
Our
goal
is
for
everyone
on
the
Main
Line
to
recognize
our
company,
and
our
brand,
as
the
place
to
go
to
get
the
information
and
support
you
need,
from
infancy
to
high
school,
moms,
dads
and
grandparents!
4. •
How
has
your
MLP
involvement
impacted
your
experience
of
being
a
mom
on
the
Main
Line?
I
am
a
self-‐professed
Facebook
addict
and
just
over
a
year
ago,
I
began
following
(and
signed
up
for
the
newsletter)
a
local
organization
called
Main
Line
Parent
(originally
Main
Line
Moms).
I
saw
a
post
from
Sarah
seeking
individuals
to
help
provide
content
for
the
new
magazine
she
was
launching,
and
thought,
‘I
could
do
that!’
I
sent
her
an
informal
bio/resume,
and
in
response,
learned
that
she
was
also
hunting
for
someone
to
pen
an
article
about
the
Main
Line’s
best
summer
camps.
I
majored
in
Education
and
worked
in
childcare
for
years;
this
was
perfect
for
me.
I
wrote
the
article,
and
then
before
I
knew
it,
was
stuffing
swag
bags
and
helping
at
the
inaugural
MNO
event
in
2011.
As
I
got
to
know
more
about
MLP
and
Sarah's
vision
for
the
business,
I
felt
a
renewed
sense
of
purpose
outside
of
the
home.
(At
the
time,
I
had
a
2
½-‐year-‐old
and
9-‐month-‐old
twins.)
Sarah
quickly
gleaned
my
enthusiasm
and
asked
if
I’d
come
on
board
as
a
sales
exec.
With
no
experience
and
a
whole
lot
of
energy,
I
accepted,
much
to
the
dismay
of
my
husband,
who
knew
that
now
with
a
part-‐time
job
he'd
have
to
wait
even
longer
for
clean
socks!
His
uncertainty
quickly
turned
into
support
as
he
saw
how
happy
I
was
writing
our
Weekly
Family
Fun
posts,
as
well
as
the
magazine's
regular
Grow
section,
and
meeting
new
people
all
over
the
Main
Line.
•
What
do
you
think
the
new
definition
of
"main
line
mom"
should
be?
All
of
us
at
MLP
have
sought
to
change
the
definition
of
"Main
Line"—a
term
given
to
describe
a
geographic
location
from
where
the
railroad
line
ran
parallel
to
Lancaster
Avenue
from
Philadelphia—and
that
gave
birth
to
many
large
estates.
It
is
now
a
socio-‐
cultural
term
that
people
associate
with
large,
expensive
homes,
extremely
wealthy
people,
and
an
air
of
superiority.
We
want
to
help
redefine
the
Main
Line
as
a
place
where
hardworking
adults
strive,
every
day,
to
provide
for
their
families,
raise
socially-‐
conscious
children,
and
give
back
to
their
community.
We
want
the
people
who
live
on
the
Main
Line
to
be
associated
with
philanthropy
and
pride,
and
we
aspire
for
MLP
to
represent
every
parent,
without
any
reference
to
income
status,
home
size,
or
car
model.
