Tony Israel, Mangoola’s Glencore operations manager, says that the successful
restoration of mined areas will cost millions of Australian dollars. However, he
adds that the rehabilitation will allow them to retain their social licence to
function. They want the locals and other industries to see that they can
peacefully coexist while they operate.
In a matter of time, the mining industry will take back its name and function to
its full potential, keeping in mind their responsibilities towards the environment
and mankind.
