Vice-President, Marketing Operations / DVP Marketing Operations 2009 - 2016
Reporting to various senior leaders (including the CEO and CMO) over the past number of years, and holding
various positions (including interim VP, Marketing) my role was to drive traffic and generate profitable sales
while reducing costs, reducing cycle time and increasing quality. I was responsible for the marketing expense
plan, as well as looking after production, print and distribution, retail and catalogue planning, and the retail
marketing teams.
♦ Drove cost out and operational efficiency, dramatically decreasing the overall marketing spend

Associate Vice-President, Specialty Format Stores March 2008 - 2009
Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Corporate Development, hand picked for this new role based on
business acumen, communication skills and initiative. The mandate was to develop the strategy for specialty
format stores, including pop-up stores and other innovative ways to go to market. Managed and developed
relationships with real-estate, store planning, IT, corporate stores, human resources, merchant teams, and
other 3rd
parties to develop the business.
♦ Launched a new branded “Jessica” store, at Niagara on the Lake in a record 30 days
♦ Launched “pop up stores” at four major Canadian Universities
♦ Created plans to generate over $70MM in Specialty Format Store sales by 2010
National Manager, Specialty Services 2006-2008
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, accountability included providing leadership
and strategic direction to ensure the effective development and implementation of licensed and food services
businesses. These businesses, including optical, portrait studio, and hair salon, generated over $185MM in
revenue and $19MM in EBITDA. Managed 5 report directs and an overall staff of 9 plus many 3rd
parties
♦ Developed a partnership with Lindt Chocolate that saw them become our supplier of the year in
2007, exceeding planned revenue by $.7MM
♦ Dramatically increased our catalogue and on-line presence resulting in 40% growth

2. National Manager, Corporate Retail Planning 2005-2006
Reporting to the Vice President, Sales Planning and Promotion, accountability included providing leadership
and direction on the strategic and tactical marketing planning process, including the development of the
media plan by month/week, for all retail activity in support of the Sears annual marketing plan. Provide
leadership and direction to our out-sourced creative agency. Managed 5 report directs and the overall
relationship with our creative agency.
♦ Managed a $165MM marketing budget
♦ Developed and executed an incremental Fall Sears Days campaign, that generated a 10%+ sales
increase and reversed our negative sales trend
♦ Managed the “post-restructuring” relationship with our creative agency, and never missed a deadline
♦ Helped develop and manage the Wish Big Christmas campaign
National Manager, Retail Marketing Operations 2005
Reporting to the Vice-President, All Channel Advertising, accountable for developing the retail blueprint,
leading the retail production team and managing the corporate editorial office. Collaborated with all business
teams and marketing offices to generate profitable sales. Worked with the corporate analytic’s team to
allocate marketing resources to the business teams. Managed 3 report directs and an overall team of 25
associates
♦ Uplifted all our weekend events and helped develop the process to deliver both the core and weekend
flyer in the same vehicle which provided significant cost-out
♦ Reworked the editorial process to become more efficient and developed a stronger relationship with
business teams, turning an adversarial process into a proactive one
♦ Completely re-organized the marketing team, including out-sourcing our creative team
National Manager, Retail Promotional Planning 2003-2005
Reporting to the Vice-President, All Channel Advertising, accountability included providing leadership and
direction on the strategic and tactical marketing planning process, including the development of the media
plan by month/week, for all retail activity in support of the Sears annual marketing plan. Managed 3 report
directs and an overall staff of 6.
♦ Overhauled the marketing “turn-in” process and replaced it with a high level corporate overview
resulting in 250 man hour savings every 2 weeks
♦ Generated an associate engagement score of 93 to lead the company
♦ Brought back a profitable Scratch and Save event, and drove 10%+ increases
