The day of judgment is considered with dread by most people. We’ll learn from John that we don’t need to face the day of judgment with dread but with confidence because we are like God, abiding in love.
2. And just as it is appointed for man to die once,
and after that comes judgment
Hebrews 9:27, NT p. 391
3. For we know him who said,“Vengeance is mine; I will repay.”
And again,“The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful
thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 10:30-31, NT p. 393
4. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist
are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment
and destruction of the ungodly.
2 Peter 3:7, NT p. 417
5. And these will go away into
eternal punishment, but the
righteous into eternal life.
Matthew 25:46, NT p. 51
