Affiliate marketing is a proven, six-figure business.
There are affiliate marketers who make hundreds of dollars PER DAY as
affiliates and I’ve even heard of arbitrage affiliates who make as much as
$50,000 per day. ($1.5 M a month)
In the meantime, there are tens of thousands of affiliates who make a
comfortable income (mostly passive income) from the comfort of their own
home.

4. What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a very simple business...
As an affiliate marketer (affiliate) y0u get paid a commission to sell a company’s
products.
Think of it as a referral fee or referral commission.
Since you are providing a sale that they otherwise would not have had, they are
willing to pay you for that sale.

5. What Is Affiliate Marketing?
The exciting thing about affiliate marketing is that every transaction is
tracked, which means you can instantly see the results of your promotions.
When you become an affiliate for a company, you are given a special link
that tracks and credits you with every sale made through that link…

6. What Is Affiliate Marketing?
The technical side: When a visitor clicks through your link, a “cookie” is placed
on the visitor’s computer which tracks your sale. This ensures that you get credit
(commissions) for every visitor – even if they don’t buy until a few weeks or
even several months later!
So, the best affiliate programs are the ones that offer ONE YEAR or even
LIFETIME COOKIES…

7. What Is Affiliate Marketing?
If you have “one year” or even “lifetime” cookies, you can get paid in the future
for promotions you are doing now.
Now you can check your stats (usually in real time) and see how many sales
(and how much money) you’ve made.
With some affiliate programs, you receive INSTANT COMMISSIONS, which is
really exciting!

8. An Important Note About Affiliate Marketing
Whenever you recommend a product as an affiliate, you are putting your
reputation on the line.
It is critically important that you ONLY recommend products that you’ve
personally reviewed OR where you can vouch for the reputation of the product
creator.
This will go a long way toward having your audience continue to follow you and
trust your recommendations in the long run.

9. Affiliate Marketing Lingo
The company that is offering an affiliate program is called the “Vendor” or the
“Advertiser” or just the “Company”.
The “Affiliate” is the person who is promoting that company’s products in
exchange for a commission. (sometimes called the “Publisher”)
You can find dozens or even hundreds of affiliate offers by visiting an “Affiliate
Network”. (some are called CPA networks)

10. One Of The First Affiliate Programs
One of the very first affiliate programs was offered by Amazon.com
They called it the Amazon Associates program and it set the groundwork for
many of the affiliate networks and models that exist today.
Amazon allows you to promote most of their products as an affiliate.
In their program, you receive a % commission of the fees they collect on each
sale.

13. What Are The Benefits Of Affiliate Marketing?
The benefits of affiliate marketing are many…
1. You don’t have to deal with customers
2. You don’t have to deal with customer service
3. You don’t have to deal with customer returns / refunds
4. You can focus ONLY on marketing
5. You can focus ONLY on driving traffic
6. Once you have successful campaigns up, it’s a matter of “checking your stats”
and making sure everything is good

14. What Are The Benefits To The Vendor?
The vendor benefits because:
1. They now have a “salesforce” – a group of people who are actively promoting
their products
2. They ONLY pay this salesforce when a sale is actually made
3. This salesforce does not require hourly pay, benefits or a retirement plan
4. There is no limit to the number of affiliates a company may have

Affiliate networks are websites that offer tons of affiliate programs to promote.
Some of the most well-known affiliate networks include:
• CJ.com (CJ Affiliate – formerly Commission Junction)
• Linkshare.com
• Shareasale.com
• Clickbank.com
• JVZoo.com

17. Introduction To CPA Networks
CPA stands for “Cost Per Action” and is a slightly different animal than a
straight affiliate offer.
In a CPA offer, the affiliate is paid by the “action”, not by the sale.
This means that the company will pay a commission if an ”action” is completed
(for example, if a person fills out a form with their email address or phone
number)
Sometimes, this can be called CPL (cost per lead) because you are helping the
company generate a sales “lead”.

19. Types Of Affiliate Programs
The most common type of affiliate program pays you a one-time commission
for a one-time sale.
Some affiliate programs pay you a recurring commission for an ongoing,
recurring, incoming payment.
Other programs have their sales funnel so “dialed in” that they are willing to
pay you commission on the entire sales funnel, from the front end sale, to the
upsells and the downsells.

On most physical products, you can expect to receive from 4% to 15%
commissions.
On digital products, you can expect to receive from 25% to 50%.
But in some cases, it’s possible to make 75% and even 100% commissions!

you to a way to find the highest paying affiliate programs.
