Every drug has pros and cons. Marijuana has some cons as well, if you are totally against it. If you look at the brighter side, the pros weigh heavier than the cons.
2. ď˝ There has always been a storm of controversy
surrounding marijuana.
ď˝ It has been used for thousands of years for its
healing and medicinal purposes.
ď˝ It was smoked by our founding fathers.
3. ď˝ Millions of people smoke it today despite the
fact that only four states and the District of
Columbia allow it for recreational use, and
only 19 other states have legalized it for
medicinal use.
ď˝ So, why is it controversial? Letâs break down
the pros and cons.
4. ď˝ Marijuana has amazing benefits. It can cure
or alleviate symptoms for various diseases
and ailments.
ď˝ Marijuana is currently being searched for its
ability to slow down the progression of
debilitating disease such as AIDs and
Alzheimerâs.
5. ď˝ It can prevent blindness in glaucoma patients,
cure migraines, and has even displayed the
mind-blowing ability to slow the progression
of cancer.
ď˝ Marijuana has been proven to help people
who suffer from seizures by reducing their
frequency. There is currently a group of
parents working to get medical marijuana
legalized for their children who suffer from
such seizures.
6. ď˝ It helps each chronic pain. It has changed the
lives of people who struggle with excruciating
pain every single day.
ď˝ Itâs the difference between suffering at home, or
going out and leading a happy productive life.
ď˝ It eases nausea and increases appetite. This is
life changing for cancer patients, as it is known
that nausea and loss of appetite are the two main
side effects of chemotherapy.
7. ď˝ The relaxing properties in marijuana soothe
individuals suffering mental illness such as
anxiety, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder) and depression.
ď˝ Researchers are currently exploring how
marijuana can be used to treat patients with
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Disorder). So far, studies have shown that
cannabis oil is effective in delivering
symptoms of the disease.
8. Some naysayers point out that marijuana is
smoked, and therefore must carry the same
risks that smoking cigarette does. Not true!
Multiple studies have proven that smoking pot
does NOT cause lung cancer.
9. ď˝ Marijuana has never been reported as causing
a single death. NOT ONE. Marijuana is a
substance you can enjoy without the worry of
how it can hurt you. It is not addictive like
many other medicine drugs.
ď˝ I still have to say, with all the things you do in
life â be smart. Do not use marijuana before
driving, just like you would abstain from any
other drug that may relax you.
10. ď˝ There are products that you use every day
that have the potential to hurt you. How often
do you take ibuprofen or acetaminophen?
ď˝ Both of those products are sold in stores, are
the popular âgo-toâ for pain relief, yet have
killed thousands of people.
ď˝ You can overdose on both of those products.
11. ď˝ Letâs move on to cigarettes. Cigarettes have
been said to be just as addictive as heroin,
cause countless deaths, and yet they are
legal. Why not marijuana?
ď˝ Alcohol is a legal drug. Many people enjoy
alcohol and like all things, moderation is the
key when drinking it. However, there are
many people who cannot drink alcohol in
moderation.
12. ď˝ Alcohol can cause people to become violent
and hurt others, to lose their inhibitions, and
to do things they would never do sober.
ď˝ Sadly, many people have been injured or
killed as the result of drinking and driving.
ď˝ Despite all of that, alcohol is and will remain
legal, while legalizing marijuana is still a topic
in most places.
13. ď˝ Marijuana is currently classified as a
controlled substance by the government. The
government also considers cocaine, crack,
heroin and meth to be controlled illegal
substances.
ď˝ Everyone knows how dangerous those drugs
are, and it makes sense that they are illegal.
However, marijuana is not dangerous!
14. Four states and our nationâs capital have
legalized marijuana for recreational use.
Nineteen more states have made the very
smart decision to legalize the drug for medical
use. Bravo to those twenty three states and
Washington D.C. for taking the step to do what
is right! ď
15. ď˝ There are many different ways can be
ingested to reap the benefits of everything it
has to offer. Very few products or natural
substances are as completely versatile as the
cannabis plant.
ď˝ Smoking:
⌠Smoking is by far the most common way that
people enjoy marijuana. Marijuana buds are broken
up and either smoked in a pipe or rolled in cigarette
papers. Smoking is definitely a quick way to reap
the benefits associated with the plant.
16. ď˝ Rubs and Balms:
⌠Pain cream can be created using the plant.
⌠A creamy balm or salve is made for the patient to
rub directly onto the area in which they are
experiencing pain for nearly immediately relief.
17. ď˝ Edibles:
⌠Edibles are consumed orally, and are typically
baked goods with butter or oil infused with THC.
Some people may not care for the infused butter
because it has a very strong flavor. However, there
is a solution for tat â chocolate! Chocolate cake,
chocolate cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies
are all great choices for getting the best taste
possible. Many dispensaries and delivery services
have an entire menu of edibles to choose from.
Edibles are a great option for patients from
marijuana without smoking.
18. ď˝ Vapor:
⌠You can also receive the benefits of marijuana by
using a vaporizer. Even though medical marijuana
will help give people an appetite who have lost it to
illness; they may still prefer not to eat it. If the
patient also does not want to smoke then they can
simply breathe the cannabis in. There is a way for
everyone to enjoy the product. This is why
versatility is such a pro of marijuana!
19. There must be some people in this world that
do not like helpful products or different ways
for everyone to use them. If thatâs the case,
they may see a con with marijuana. For the rest
of us, there are so many pros to marijuana!
20. ď˝ Anyone living in smart twenty three states and
Washington D.C. where recreational and or
medical marijuana are legal, already knows what
a boom the sales are to the economy. Making
more money is always on the pro side of the list!
ď˝ Letâs start with taxes. The state can make money
off the sales of marijuana by taxing. That means
more money available to fund programs, which
means more opportunities for state residents.
Pro? Yes, definitely!
21. What about all the businesses that are being
created? There are so many ways to make
money when you live in a state where
marijuana has been legalized. You can open a
dispensary or a delivery service. You can grow
the product! For those of you who like to cook,
making edible is a new career opportunity.
Money in your pocket? Yes, that is a pro of
marijuana!
22. Growth of small businesses leads to growth of
the economy. Those new business owners and
their employees now have money to spend!
They will spend it at grocery stores, gas
stations, and toy stores. That is the way the
economy turns around.
23. ď˝ Have you ever heard someone say, â I wish I
had less money?â I donât think so. This
country runs on money. Marijuana is an
economic pro and not a con. The list of ways
that marijuana can make money is almost
endless.
ď˝ To sum it up, there are all pros and cons to
marijuana. There arenât many products,
especially medicines, in the world today that
have all pros and no cons.
24. If you live in a state that has legalized
marijuana, that is wonderful! If you donât, you
have some work to do. Spread the word about
the all the pros to using marijuana. Tell people
all about the benefits that medical cannabis
has to offer any patient suffering from any
condition. The most important thing you can
do is follow the local political scene in your
state.
