The contemplative look on this man’s face is representative of how I want my films to resonate with the audience.
When lessons in life resonate with us, we sit and reflect on a myriad of things. This sky is representative of that and it is how I want my films to impact the audience, no matter the genre.
That’s me in the flesh, setting out for greatness.
I thought this military chopper conveyed my statement quite well in the perception of it.
Film- the heart of my goal.
My brand mantra. I will connect with my audience by immersing them in the experience of it. I can do this by utilizing established filmmaking tactics such as complex plot-lines, immersive camera tactics, and new techniques that I’m currently studying and developing.
A clip from the classic ‘Nosferatu’; a throwback to the creativity of old.
The original Jurassic Park; a wonderful example of the greatness that was, compared to the CGI fest of today.
CGI is a wonderful tool when used correctly but it has become far too overused. A magic trick is only impressive if you can’t tell how it’s performed. This goes for film as well. If you can tell what you are looking at is fake, the experience is then tainted and the audience is taken out of the zone. Far too many movies come apart at the seams because of unnecessary and shoddy CGI.
The audience now goes into the movie theater expecting explosions and computer generated imagery, (CGI), but often leave the theater and forget all about the experience. This is unacceptable for a 200 million dollar movie. Filmmakers can do more. Compare ‘The Dark Knight’ to ‘The Avengers’: Both blockbusters but the former was compelling; the latter was popcorn entertainment that was quickly forgotten.
The gamut of emotions that a movie can illicit are substantial.
I have been enamored with film since a very young age. This is what I’ve always wanted to do and it’s the ONLY thing I’ve wanted to do.
I know, in my soul, that I can change the landscape of film for the better. I’ve never felt more confident about anything in my life.
The technical skills I learn at Full Sail, paired with my knowledge of film theory thus far, In another year, I’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
There are several camera tactics that are being developed every year as new technology makes it to the forefront. With the advent of new cameras, equipment, storytelling methods, and instant potential exposure via social media outlets, now is a fantastic time to get into filmmaking.
My home away from home!
Look out for me in the future. I’m on a lifelong journey and I won’t be stopped!
