2. Why this idea?
16th of December 2012 6 men had a party in New Delhi when they decided to take Ram
Singhs bus for ”some fun”. They picked up a 23 year old medical student and her male
friend and when the man noticed that the bus deviated from the normal route he
confronted the men and he was then beaten unconscious. They dragged the girl to the
back of the bus where she was gang raped by the 6 men. When they were finished they
even raped her with an iron rod so when she got to the hospital she only had 5% of her
intestines left in her stomach.
This incident had a huge impact on me and i started to think how we can try and reduce
the number of rapes world wide and i came up with this idea.
Who is the best to help you in a emergency? The answer is the closest person to you!
3. When you accept to answer to the emergency this will appear on your screen and show
you in a easy way where the emergency is, and sound from the persons phone will also be
heard because it might tell you what kind of emergency the person is in. In this example its
a rape attempt and you can hear screaming and fighting going on.
4. Information about the person in distress will also appear on the screen. Press on the
persons photo to get further information. It can be an address, age, height, haircolour,
pregnancy, diseases like HIV or any information that can be good to know if medical
assistant is needed.
5. More functions. Ability to call police or ambulance by just pressing a button and see how
many that have done it. Also see how many that have responded to the emergency. Fast
button to take a photo of suspects fleeing the scene.
6. Apps today.
There are many apps out there today that you can use in a emergency and most of them
have predetermined persons that get a message if you are in trouble. I don't think that is
good enough.
If the response time to the emergency is more than 2 min they will arrive when the
damage is already done. Its never wrong to call for help but why call for persons that
cannot help you? The most important thing in any emergency is the time to when help
arrives!
The average response time for the police in US is 11 minutes. 11 minutes in a
emergency is an eternity!
Imagine this idea pre-installed in every phone world wide. How many girls/women could
be saved from raped every year? Hom many lives can we save if help is always close?
Some apps are starting to come out with a similar idea. They will cost money. I want to
release this for free. My dream is to work with Google, Microsoft and Apple with this. They
could make this happen and change the world for the better . We must do everything we
can to protect victims from rape, sexual assaults and violence and it should never cost
money to call for help!
