1. RECCE PHOTOGRAPHS
Prior to filming I will have to do extensive checks which means I can enable myself to choose the
perfect location for filming. I will go to many locations and complete a report on each with the
possible hazards and advantage of each set. Some locations will come with complementary filming
levels for example a lecture theatre includes raised levels therefore we can create different camera
angle. On the other hand, this place may have limited space to film. Further places which would be
very hard to film are busy roads because we need to make sure there are no cars which could injure
our actors.
This location is poor because it can be busy
during peak times. The peak times are also the
optimal times for my actors to work. I need to
allocate times for filming which are best for
me, my actors/crew and the location itself. On
this image, it is a public place therefore
wouldn’t need widespread agreements like
that of a private set e.g. a school.
This set is poor because of the limited
space. This would make it hard to get
perfect angles for the camera man as they
are limited to a small space. As you can see
in the image that there are many hazards.
These include the locker doors which could
hit the crew whilst on set. The untidy nature
of the set also means that there are many
bags and other paraphernalia on set
creating further hazards.
This set is also deprived due to the sheer number
of obstacles and distractions whilst filming. Prior
to filming I would have to remove the table
tennis table, the stalls and possibly the TVs to
maximise my chances of professionality. This
could possible take time meaning I would have to
waste more time when I could be finalising my
production. The removal of this equipment could
also cost money as it is too complex for our
team. This would increase the pre-production
budget rather than the filming budget.
