about The Food Preparation & Nutrition GCSE
course that we have at Pakefield High
School.
This is a breakdown of how the course is
assessed and the following slides show a bit
more about this. I hope you find the video
informative.

2. NEA 1 35% of GCSE
A previous NEA Task
Investigating the process of
oxidisation
During year 11: Working in groups to choose, then
prepare fruit and vegetables. Recording the effects
of different liquids and outcomes in the tests.
Individually a report is then written with a max
2500 words to explain the findings and conclusions.
3. NEA 2 Controlled
assessment:
Folder and practical exam
NEA 2 50% of GCSE
A theme is given for the NEA
Task by OCR
Pupils can then research, choose
and prepare their own choice of 3
dishes
During year 11 :Pupils produce an evidence
folder which includes research, choices and
justification of dishes. Nutritional values,
seasonality and cost are investigated. Evidence
of cooking and tasting with sensory analysis
charts and written conclusions This is the part
of the course pupils most enjoy , the chance to
shine and show all their skills.
