6. Task 4 – Evaluation – Production
Describe three strengths of your final pieces.
1- The colour scheme uses traditional colours that are usually used in Optical
Art art pieces, such as black and white but the use of the red is also a feature
in more modern Optical Art pieces.
2- It isn’t full of unnecessary pictures or overly long sentences that could
clutter up the poster, it has the information needed as well as some pieces to
attract anyone interested whilst keeping the poster simple.
3- Fading the corner of the piece of Art on the bottom left where it overlaps
the other piece just stops the poster from seeming almost clunky and
unprofessional, it allows the pieces to kind of blend into each other.
7. Task 4 – Evaluation – Production
Describe three areas for improvement in your final pieces.
1- If I were to make the poster again I would like t do a more interesting design that
could force me to use more of Photoshop’s features as I believe my poster is a bit
boring. I only used the basic rectangle tool and a few bits of text, once I started
being able to fade the picture it was then I realised I wanted to use more technical
features to create a more intriguing design.
2- I could have used either more or just different brighter colours that would make
the poster to stand out, I think it could do with maybe one or two primary colours to
make I a bit more lively to attract more people.
3- Instead of having 2 large pieces of her art I maybe should have included 2 others
but all 4 be smaller for room, if I included 4 pieces instead of 2 that would add more
variety to the poster plus it would maybe allow me to use more features of
photoshop as well as showing off more of what would be available at the exhibition.
8. Task 4 – Evaluation – Problem Solving
Describe three problems you faced in your project and how you solved these
1- At the start I had no clue how to use photoshop at all, to solve this I would ask
other students how to do certain things as well as having a lesson from another
tutor
2- I didn’t have any ideas on what I wanted my poster to look like so to solve that I
just took a few attempts at making the poster and even one time completely
starting again with a whole new design idea until I finally got what I wanted.
3- I didn’t have any idea what art exhibition posters looked like, especially ones
for Optical Art so to solve this I googled both just Art Exhibition posters as well as
Optical Art Exhibition poster so I could get the idea what I should be making and
this helped very much because allowed me to create ideas for my own poster.
9. Task 4 – Evaluation – Working with others
Choose three aspects of your production where you worked well with your
team and this benefited the project
1- we both split the research allowing us to focus more deeply on certain
aspects of Optical Art in the time we had which then when it came to making
the posters it meant we had more research to look at then if we just
researched it all alone.
2- We communicated with each other to make sure that we knew what we
were both doing and what we both wanted and what we both thought would
work making it easier to create our posters.
3-
10. Task 4 – Evaluation - Feedback
Discuss the feedback you received from your tutor during the project and how
you used this to improve the project
The feedback I received was that at the top there was a lot of open and unused
space, I could have made the text ”Op Art” larger to fill the open and unused
space, as well as that I was told that instead of overlapping the pieces of art they
should fit so they join together.
