This is a version of a quiz from the British comedy show 'Mock the Week' but made more learner-friendly and appropriate! This activity is a useful starter or lesson to try to encourage English learners who are perhaps not too confident to speak. On each slide there is an answer and the aim is for the students to ask different questions to which the answer could apply. The point is for the students to practice forming questions and to think of different questions. I haven't put the 'real' questions (which i had in mind) on the slide but i'll post the more obscure answers below. 2. 1994 - USA world cup, or whatever you want 5. 151,600 - how many people die each day 9. Tokyo - Most populous city 10. 52 - weeks in a year 13. 60% - Water in your body 15. 384,400 km - distance to the moon 17. 71% - percentage of water on earth 20. 353,000 - people born every day 22. 78 - life expectancy in Poland (could be elsewhere) 24. 10 million - number of Polish and Polish Americans in the USA 25. 195 - number of countries on earth 27. 7 years - bad luck if you break a mirror or 1 human year in dog years 29. 1,800km - distance i am from home! 31.
