2. Prayer for Generosity
Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you
deserve; to give and not to count the
cost; to fight and not to heed the
wounds; to toil and not to seek for
rest; to labour and not to ask for
reward except that of knowing that I
do your will. Amen
3. O God, for the greater glory of your name you chose
Ignatius to be your servant, to do battle for Christ and
the Church under the banner of the Cross. Grant to us
who have received this grace of being his sons in the
Society that bears your Son’s name, that through the
help and example of our Father, we may fight on earth
for the defence and spread of faith, so that your name
be glorified and your people may be saved. This we ask
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and
a mother who opens her arms to embrace us. This nature is a
magnificent book in which God speaks to us and grants us a
glimpse of his infinite beauty and goodness
Let us pray for the grace to appreciate the trees in our
campus, the birds that come around and the animal kingdom
that co exist with us.
11. Response: All powerful God, you are present in the whole
universe and in the smallest of your creatures. Pour out upon
us the power of your love that we may protect life and
beauty.

are beautiful, how the splendour of the rose and the whiteness
of the Lily do not take away the perfume of the little violet or
the delightful simplicity of the daisy”
Our sister ‘Mother Earth’ brings home to our senses the
mind of God in a simple and tangible way. Let us pray for the
grace to approach this ‘book of nature’ with Love, Respect
and Reverence.

creation and approach her with love, respect and reverence.

This sister now cries out to us because of the harm we have
inflicted on her by our irresponsible use and abuse of the goods
with which God has endowed her. Pope Paul VI referred to the
ecological concern as “a tragic consequence” of unchecked human
activity. Yet, the Creator does not abandon us; he never forsakes his
loving plan or repents of having created us. Humanity still has the
ability to work together in building our common home.
Everyone’s talents and involvement are needed to redress
the damage caused by human abuse of God’s creation.
As sons of Ignatius who are labouring with Him we may be
always at the forefront to promote harmony in the nature.
13. Response: Teach us to replace consumption with sacrifice,
greed with generosity, and wastefulness with a spirit of
sharing

Since the market tends to promote extreme consumerism in
an effort to sell its products, people can easily get caught up
in a whirlwind of needless buying and spending. Compulsive
consumerism is one example of how the techno-economic
paradigm affects individuals.
If we look around in our own rooms perhaps we may realize
that we too have become victims of this consumeristic culture.
Let us pray for the grace to be generous and discerning.
14. Response: Creator and ruler of the universe,
You entrusted your world to us as a gift. Help
us to care for it that we may live in right
relationship with you and with creation.

We Jesuits are called to help heal a broken world, promoting a
new way of producing and consuming, which puts God’s
creation at the centre.. We begin by changing our personal and
community life style, adopting behaviour coherent with our
desire for reconciliation with creation.
In our efforts to reconcile with creation our innovative
ecological efforts such as tree planation, waste segregation,
vermin- compose, water recycling etc have been initiated. Let
us pray for the grace to cooperate and collaborate whole-
heartedly with these endeavours.
15. ConcludingPrayer
O God, for the greater glory of your name you
chose Ignatius to be your servant, to do battle
