The document discusses three potential images for a movie poster about twin sisters. For each image, the document lists advantages and disadvantages. Image 1 shows the twins standing together, conveying the movie's theme but one twin is framed better than the other. Image 2 shows the twins' eyes close together, implying a connection, but one twin has her body positioned forward. Image 3 only shows half of each twin's face, linking to the theme, but the twins are posed differently with one appearing taller. The document concludes that editing could overcome disadvantages and a survey will be conducted to see which image best attracts an audience.
2. IMAGE 1
▸Advantages;
▸ This could be a good image to use for my poster
due to the fact that the twins are standing beside
each other and you can tell that the movie is going
to be about two twins.
▸Another advantage of this image is the fact that
their face looks peaceful however the makeup on
their face and the contact lenses scream out
horror, therefore this mixture of peacefulness and
horror creates some sort of panic.
▸Disadvantages;
▸A disadvantage of this image is the framing, and
shadows - the twin on the right is much more in
frame as she is taking more of the image whereas
the twin on the left is not in frame. This can
suggest that the twin on the right is more powerful
and dominant and that is not what I want my poster
to show to the audience.
3. IMAGE 2
▸Advantages;
▸Being so close together and their contact
lenses being right beside one another implies
the fact that they are on person within - this
links in with the my films idea as it is about
them doing a ritual to bring the devil into
human form (the contact lenses could perhaps
be the devil himself - so his two eyes)
▸Their eyes are wide open and they have a
straight face without any other emotions this is
also a factor which can freak out the audience
and will automatically shout horror.
▸Disadvantages;
▸A disadvantage of this image is the fact that
the twin which is on the right has her body
forwards whereas the other twins body is
behind and slightly slanted which can again
show that one is more dominant than the
other.
4. IMAGE 3
▸Advantages;
▸An advantage of this image is the fact that it is only
showing half of their faces which makes the audience
picture their whole face and could perhaps use both of
their halves to make one. once again this link in with my
‘twin’ theme
▸Disadvantages;
▸A disadvantage of this image is the fact that the twins are
posing differently meaning that you can tell the
differences between them. The one on the right has her
head lifted up whereas the others head is straight
forward.
▸Another disadvantage in this image is the fact that one of
them appears taller than the other and once again I
wouldn't want to show the idea that one is more dominant
than the other.

DISCUSSION
▸I believe that these three images are the most suitable for
my poster cover. Most of the disadvantages mentioned
previously can be overcome through editing, however the
main purpose of choosing the ideal is image is so that the
audience will like it and that the image will actually attract
them into wanting to watch the film.
▸I am going to show these three images around my sixth form
and ask which ones they would expect so see on a horror
movie poster.
