Current Major Achievements:
10. Drought Mitigation in Thar (DMT):
With the aim of disseminating drought
mitigation techniques and learning at grass-root
level, encouraging replication and creating
drought proofing through water, food and fodder
security the project has been implemented in 20
villages of Western Rajasthan. The project being
implemented by different partner organization of different districts gives a much better
opportunity for replication and dissemination of drought mitigation techniques. In order
to have maximum use of natural resources, rain water harvesting techniques is adopted
in the project which is one of the most satisfying activities to mitigate drought problems.
Activities done under DMT
1. Construction of Taanka: 30 Tankas has been constructed
2. Construction of Khadin: 15 Khadin has been constructed
3. Horticulture Unit Development: 10 Units has been constructed
4. Farmers Meeting and training: 305 farmers were participated
5. SHG (Self Help Group) Meeting: 52 members attended meeting
MOBILE HEALTH VAN:
Cairn has supported Dhara Sansthan for Executing
MHV project along the pipe line route. The basic
purpose for Cairn was to initiate health based
intervention in the pipeline villages to address the need
of health services and increase its footprint in those
villages.
A mobile health van project has been
running in Barmer and Jalore district of Rajasthan and
Viramgam and Tharad of Gujrat. The project covers 80
villages in both Rajasthan and Gujrat State.
4 MHV Mobile health Van running this time for 4 Clusters: Barmer and Sanchor (Rajasthan)
and Viramgoan and Tharad (Gujrat). Each cluster has more than 20 villages.
Jeevan Amrit Project (R.O. Plant):
Water is life! One of the critical concerns ever faced by
mankind is diminishing availability of good quality
water. Especially in western Rajasthan, ground water is
11. polluted with high fluoride/TDS and harmful pathogens and brackish in taste and not fit for
drinking. In order to address this concern in its own way, Cairn India in partnership with Tata
Projects, jointly with PHED and Panchayat initiated “JEEWAN AMRIT PROJECT”, needy
villages of District Barmer, Rajasthan. This Financial Year, Jeewan Amrit Project had proposed
to Install 15 RO Plants in the Villages in Barmer district of Rajasthan.
