Dear Chapter Advisors and Teachers:
Welcome back!!! This year will prove to be the best yet for DECA Ontario as we enter our 34th year. We are expecting
to grow to over 9 000 members with new chapters already registered for this coming year!
Our 34th Annual DECA Ontario Provincial Competitions are scheduled for February 11th and 12th, 2013 at the Toronto
Sheraton Centre in downtown Toronto. Top winners will advance to the Internationals, which will be held in Anaheim,
California from April 22nd to 29th, 2013.
Teachers receiving this package, who are new to DECA Ontario, are asked to carefully review the contents and consider
this learning opportunity for your students. DECA could be the tool to bring excitement and increased enrollment to
your business department as our courses are truly optional for students.
Please feel free to contact any Board or Advisory Council member in your area if you have any questions about our
programme.

October 12, 2012  Deadline for DECA Ontario Membership registrations (Must be postmarked by
October 12, 2012. Register online at www.deca.ca website ONLY; $35 per student
(includes membership dues AND Regional Qualifier fee) and $30 Chapter Fee (Chapter
fee waived for new chapters).
**NEW THIS YEAR: No late fees will be accepted. No members can be added after
October 12th.**

January 16, 2013  Deadline for Written Event submissions; soft copy to be submitted to turnitin.com and
ONE hard copy submitted to the DECA Ontario Office at 100 Richmond Street West,
Suite 341 no later than 4:00pm. Ontario ‘Competitive Events Checklist’; make sure you
follow THIS format for Provincials. Submit only ONE paper.
