NAME OF WORK: Appointment of JAN SADHARAN TICKET BOOKING SEWAK (JTBS) for 3
years.
Applications are invited in the prescribed format for selection and appointment
of JAN SADHARAN TICKET BOOKING SEWAK(JTBS) at 279 locations of 125 important
serving stations over Sealdah Division, Eastern Railway for issuing computerized
unreserved tickets through unreserved ticketing system (UTS). Interested person,
fulfilling the stipulated conditions may apply and drop the application in the sealed box
duly filled in sealed cover enclosing requisite attested papers as per format with
mentioning the serving station and category of applicant to the Senior Divisional
Commercial Manager, Eastern Railway, Sealdah’s office, DRM building, Room No.44,
Kolkata – 700014 from 04.02.2015 to 02.03.2015 on any working day from 11:00 hours
to 16:00 hours. The box will be opened on 03.03.2015 at 12:00 hours. If the date of
opening happens to be a holiday or Bandh or there is some unforeseen reason, the Box
will be opened on the following working day as per timing and place mentioned above.

5. ELIGIBILITY / QUALIFICATION
1) Applicant should not be under 18 years of age at the time of publication of this
notice and be at least Madhyamik pass or equivalent. However, educational
qualification can be relaxed by the competent authority if there is no applicant
otherwise available.
2) Applicant should be a local resident of the area served by the station. As a
residential proof, applicant should enclose a certified copy of voter identity card or
ration card etc.
3) Applicant should submit a character certificate from District Magistrate
/ Addl. District Magistrate / Sub District Magistrate / Block Development Officer or
Tehsildar. However before appointment as JTBS the applicant will also have to
produce a certificate from the Police Station serving his/her locality that no criminal
case is pending against him/her.
4) The premises for issue of unreserved tickets should have easy accessibility of the
public and to be arranged by the applicant in his/her own cost beyond railway
premises under serving station.
5) Applicant with telephone connection in his/her premises will be preferred.
6) The applicant will have to deposit the security money of Rs.5000/- and Bank
Guarantee of Rs.20000/- when demanded and the cost of materials required for
issuing tickets, leased connectivity line from BSNL etc. expenses will be borne by
the selected JTBS.

N.B. i) All supporting documents should be enclosed duly attested by a Gazetted Officer only.
ii) Without drawing / map of proposed site of JTBS location the application will not be
entertained.
iii) Name of the serving station should be written on the top of the proforma as well as on
the envelope, otherwise the application will not be entertained.
7. APPOINTMENT OF JAN SADHARAN TICKET BOOKING SEWAK (JTBS) FOR 3(THREE)
YEARS.
It is not a job. It is like an agent permitted for selling the Railway unreserved
ticket from his/her business premises.
The applicant is required to pay on selection Rs.5000/- as a refundable security
deposit (interest free) and bank guarantee of Rs.20000/- in favour of FA & CAO,
Eastern Railway, Kolkata payable at Kolkata. On completion of termination of contract,
pending dues if any will be adjusted from the security deposit and balance will be
refunded to JTBS.
PROCEDURE
JTBS will procure UTS Computer Terminals and BSNL leased channel. He will
also bear the cost of hiring of channel.
JTBS will be supplied UTS ticket roll by serving station. JTBS will be responsible
for their safe custody. In case of any loss on this account necessary debit will be raised
against him/her as per extant rule. JTBS will issue cash ticket only and is not
authorized to make non issue of tickets, cancel and grant refund on tickets.
JTBS will make advance deposit more than Rs.10000/- for issuing of tickets. And
tickets can be issued till the balance reaches Rs.10000/-. There is no upper financial
limit for issue of tickets. JTBS will not issue tickets from station premises. JTBS will
collect Re.1/- per passenger as commission from passenger (which will also be
mentioned on the ticket). JTBS will submit account of sell to the serving station on daily
basis along with value of ticket.
DURATION
Initial period of contract will be for 3 years which can be extended yearly on the
basis of satisfactory performance for the next 03 years.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
Duly filled in application in a sealed cover with the name of serving station and
full address of the applicant addressed to Senior Divisional Commercial Manger, Eastern
Railway, Sealdah, DRM building, 16, Kaizer Street, Kolkata – 700014 may be dropped
in the sealed box kept in the office of Senior Divisional Commercial Manger, Eastern
Railway, Sealdah from 04.02.2015 to 02.03.2015 on any working day from 11:00 hours
to 16:00 hours. Box will be opened on 03.03.2015 at 12:00 hours.
AGAREEMENT
Selected candidates will have to be executed an agreement with the Railways.
The Railway Administration reserves the right to accept/cancel any/all
application(s) without giving any reason, whatsoever.
