3. These are just a few of Coco Chanel’s designs. The current designer for CHANEL, Karl Lagerfeld, does a great job in continuing the inspiration and atmosphere that Coco Chanel once drew out of her into her clothing. She portrays a personality of simplicity, layers, formality, maturity and a strong independent woman in her designs because that was her own personality during her lifetime.

4. Versace, as you can see, presents bold statements about their collection and is not afraid to stand out. Donatella Versace, former designer Gianni Versace’s sister, successfully brings out Gianni’s inspiration in her designs which is aggressiveness, strength, boldness and confidence. The road to success was rough and challenging, but this attitude and vision is what brought Versace to the top.

5. Hierarchy, status and class is the language Polo Ralph Lauren speaks. His designs were originally inspired by a sport call Polo, and the sport being popular amongst the rich and high class, his collections were obviously meant for the rich and high class. I believe his portrayal of a ‘Typical Saturday Afternoon Leisure of the Rich’ has been, and is, successfully communicated through his clothing.
