Evaluation Question 6
1. What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
Will Ellis
2. Facebook & Twitter
In order to let people know about my surveys, and to
ask them to fill them out, I used both of these social
networks.
I was already familiar with these technologies, so it
was helpful that I knew about them when it was
necessary to use them in order to get sufficient target
audience research.
3. Wordpress
Wordpress is the blogging site in which I have had to
present all my work.
I have had to get used to using the site throughout the
process I my whole media AS. Structuring my blog and
posts has been part of this learning experience. It
helped that I have had experience with Tumblr, which
is another blogging site, so has a similar purpose and
function.
4. SurveyMonkey
SurveyMonkey is a site in which the user can devise their own
questionnaires online and send them to people in order for them
to fill the questionnaire out.
The site is quick and easy to use, so I quickly got a handle on it. I
used it in order to create and get results on my Target Audience
Research and Target Audience Feedback.
5. Youtube
Youtube is a site in which anyone can share their videos with
millions of people across the world.
I was very familiar with Youtube before having to use it, as it is
a world renowned site. I had never uploaded a video to the site
before, however, until carrying out my media construction. It
was easy to get familiar with it, and so I had no problem
uploading videos before embedding them into my Wordpress
blog.
6. Freesound & Freeplay
Both Freesound & Freeplay are sights in
which uncopyright music can be listened to and
downloaded for free.
I used both of these sites in the editing process
once I had filmed my construction, in order to
create the score for my movie.
7. iMovie
iMovie is a program in which film shots can
be edited individually and precisely.
This program was a huge part of the whole
process, and we were introduced to it and
given some time to use it freely at the start of
the year in order to become familiar with it. I
used this program to edit my entire film, add
music, add in and take out shots, and to
devise the credits.
8. Sony Camera
I used the Sony camera throughout the
entire process. I used it to film everything;
my preliminary task and my final product.
It took time and process to get used to
using the camera effectively, and this is
shown in the improvement made from my
preliminary task at the beginning of the
process to my final product at the end of it.
9. What have I learnt?
I have learnt that there are endless amounts of things you can do
with technology, and that you can synergise them in order to
work towards one goal, which was, in this case, to construct an
opening to a film.
