- The GSK IMPACT Awards provide funding, training and development for charities doing excellent work to improve people's health and wellbeing. They are funded by GSK and managed in partnership with The King's Fund. The awards are open to registered charities that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total annual income of between £80,000 and £2.5 million. The 2020 GSK IMPACT Awards are now closed. Shortlisting will take place in October and all applicants will receive notification in mid-November.
- We support local charities that help our employees link the products we make on site with patients in the local communities. Through site fundraisers and fund matching – over the years, we have raised money for charities such as BreatheEasy, HertsAid, Terrance Higgins Trust, MacMillan Coffee mornings, CHIPS, and Save the Children – our GSK nominated charity
- Individuals and teams across PSC Ware have taken part in some great Orange Days this year so far and we wanted to showcase some of the great work that people are doing for the local community. Here’s just some of the things that people have been up to: In August, RSC Assembly helped out at the Hertfordshire and Essex Air Ambulance warehouse, sorting out donations, sizing up clothes and a general tidy up. They have also done painting, decorating and garden tending at Woodson Park, The Ware Priory and Southern Maltings. In July, RSC Packing received great feedback from the local community when they split up into groups and took part in a number of activities at local schools and a litter collection along the tow path. In April, teams from across site took part in an Orange Day simultaneously in three locations in Ware doing tasks such as building sheds, shifting rubble, painting floors/walls, giving the local track and field facilities a spring clean and even flower planting in the town centre.
- At GSK Ware, we provide inspiring and engaging programmes to support students from primary school to post-graduate; we run Work Experience programmes and our STEM ambassadors visit local schools and career fairs to discuss what we do at Ware, support Science Week events. To inspire young people into GSK careers, with focus on Apprentice, IP, and Graduate programmes, to help to develop our talent pipeline for the future. Target group: 11-18 year olds. 8 closest secondary schools targeted, plus wider coverage. Involvement of all STEM Ambassadors on site, including the people on our Early Talent programmes. Key activities: 2 work experience programmes, 2 mentoring programmes, apprenticeship open evening, career fairs and apprentice talks in local schools (in response to requests), GMS representation at regional science fair.
