UX researchers can deliver more value by optimizing how they work with research sponsors at two key stages of a study: defining study questions and delivering results. When defining study questions (i.e., scoping and framing the study), researchers can improve upon initial input from sponsors by (1) enlarging the problem frame and (2) refining the questions posed to study participants. When delivering results, researchers can use two tactics: (1) preserving freedom of action and (2) adding breathing room between findings and recommendations. The recommended practices in this talk arose my idiosyncratic reflections and solutions to challenges I’ve encountered in conducting UX research with project teams. These practices have been validated in numerous engagements, and shared informally with colleagues in multiple organizations.

The document is structured according to the GDNet logframe, it looks into the Baseline summary, M&E tools and methods designed to generate the data for each baseline figure, Data management plan the ownership, frequency, and source of on-going M&E activities with GDNet.and specific, Tools and Templates to generate and/or store GDNet’s baselines and on-going M&E data. Data collection activities which generated significant volumes of data.

This Output to Purpose review was carried out for DFID by ITAD and covers GDNet’s performance, lessons learnt and recommendations. It includes an executive summary and a summary of the 12 recommendations made. DFID has supported GDNet since its early pilot phase in 2002. Hence, this evaluations aims to provide an objective assessment of the results and likely impact of the programme. The evaluation addresses the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of the programme in relation to its objectives.

GDNet - Global Development Network, Cairo Office

As the knowledge management and research communications arm of the Global Development Network, GDNet builds the capacity of researchers from developing and transition countries to inform global development research and policy. In its early years, GDNet focused on information and knowledge management staff in developing country research institutes, recognising the importance of this group in moving locally generated research into policy. From 2005 onwards, GDNet piloted a series of knowledge management workshops in Africa, and in 2007, organised a two-day conference in Cairo, in partnership with the ACBF and the World Bank Institute, to share and examine its findings with others. Called “Knowledge Management as an Enabler of Change and Innovation in Africa”, the conference brought together the experiences and lessons learned from efforts to build knowledge management capacity from across the African continent. This paper revisits the conclusions of this conference on capacity building of knowledge management in Africa, and explores their continued relevance.

This article aims to demonstrate that the Lula government is faced with two major challenges in its effort to promote Brazil's economic and social development. For Brazil's progressive forces to re-elect President Lula in the 2026 presidential elections and obtain a parliamentary majority in the National Congress committed to political, economic and social advances, the Lula government will have to be successful on the economic front, promoting the expansion of the economy, increasing significantly generating jobs and income, keeping inflation under control and meeting the maximum social demands that benefit, above all, the country's underserved populations. Brazil's progressive forces need to commit, starting from the 2024 municipal elections, towards to elect the maximum number of mayors and councilors committed to Brazil's political, economic and social advances. These are the conditions to prevent, in 2026, right-wing extremists from regaining the Presidency of the Republic, expanding their participation in state governments and the National Congress and putting their nefarious anti-social and anti-national project into practice.
