3. NATURE
COMES
FIRST
We at CWP want to participate in the
protection of nature. All of our products
are maid mainly from Finnish birch
veneer, but other types of wood can also
be coloured.
Veneer used as a raw material for
products is PEFC or FSC certified. The
wood selected for the products comes
from a verified source. The birch is
sourced from sustainably managed
forests.
The materials and methods used for
manufacturing through-dyed veneer are
environmentally friendly.
Materials and products made from
through-dyed veneer can be used for
replacing endangered wood types from
rainforests or developing countries, such
as the brown merbau or blackish wenge.
Thanks to through-dyeing, wood can also
be given the tone the customer needs in
an ecological way.
Customers can enjoy products made
from through-dyed veneer for as long as
possible. The colour penetrates through
the entire thickness of the material, and
the surface can be renewed by sanding
without loss of colour.
Through-dyed veneer allows for a longer

of a burden on the environment.

Dyed veneers and
colouring service
Through-dyed veneer can
be used on its own as a
surface veneer or to provide
accent colours in decor and
furniture, for instance. CWP
also uses through-dyeing to
give the desired colour to its
own veneer or the
customer’s veneer. Woods
which respond well to
colouring include birch,
beech, ash, oak and maple.
Reconstituted veneer
Manufactured by gluing
1.5 mm veneers into planks
with the desired colour
combination and by cutting
these into veneers with a
thickness between 0.35 and
1.0 mm. The veneer is
compliant with the EN
717-1 standard for
formaldehyde emissions of
wood products.
Laminated blanks
Individual dyed veneers are
laminated into blanks. The
dimensions of a standard
plank are 850 * 270 * 60
mm. Colours and
dimensions can also be
specified according to the
customer’s needs.

Reconstituted veneer is
ideally suitable for products,
which need bending. CWP
can produce veneer with a
width of 500 mm - veneers
do not require seaming,
leading to significant
savings in material costs.
In three -dimensional
products a fleece backing
may also be used with the
veneer.
The thinnest veneers (e.g.
0.35 mm) allow light to
shine through if desired and
can be used in light fixtures,
for example.
