2. SCHOOL:!
In 2013-2014 school year alone, there were in
19 Twin Cities public middle schools and
served over 2000 middle school delegates. !

STUDENT:!
Of the 491 students that participated in the
Student Self-Assessment Survey by the end of
school year of 2014, 48.32% reported
improved academic skills and 65.44%
reported an increased awareness of
international issues.

INTRO TO MO DEL U N
Model UN Program is an innovative international education program that engages 7-12 grade
students both in the classroom and in simulations involving human rights, peace and security,
economic, and sustainable development issues, which is provided for free to public middle school
children in the Twin Cities.
CLASSROOM VISIT:
Our MUN trainers visit different classrooms and assist
teachers to prepare MUN conference for 8th grade
students around the Twin Cities. The curriculum ranges
from introduction to United Nations to Model UN
Procedures. Students get to practice research, public
speaking skills over the lessons.
CONFERENCE:
During the conferences students take the role of United
Nations delegates, draft resolutions, negotiate, strategize,
and formally present their country’s positions within the
parameters of the U.N.’s rules of procedure. The
Humphrey International Fellows are often invited to the
conferences to be keynote speakers and role models for
youth.
SPANISH CURRICULUM & CONFERENCE
UNA-MN is the only United Nations Association in the U.S.
that provides a complete Spanish Curriculum and State
Conference. We also offer classroom visits for students in
Spanish Immersion Programme.
