- My aim tonight is to persuade you to join and participate in the AWTFacebook group. I will highlight the benefits for you, the reasons for joining, the facts about Facebook and some compelling reasons for participating in our group.Join a growing membership of 14 (current, past and affiliated club members)Be part of a wider network â you can befriend others who may have similar interests in ToastmastersKeep track of what others are doing â even though they have moved away
- Part of the skill of being a digital citizen in the 21st century is management of an online presence and maintaining of a credible digital identity.Part of this involves being a responsible member of social networks and sharing things professionally with colleagues.For Toastmasters this could be any one of these four actions â donât fall into the trap of sharing inappropriate things Refer to the recent You Tube video: The Offline Social Network (HUNGRY BEAST)

- Letâs get back to the topic of Facebook for ToastmastersIn one short week after creating the group, we have 14 members and a growing interest in the use of Facebook to keep connectedHereâs a place where we could share images of our TM meetings.Hereâs a place where other members, who cannot attend, can keep in touch with what weâre doing.Hereâs a place to advertise events: meetings, dinners, special speechcraft, etc
- Take Care when you join â give only minimal information about yourself â donât publish your address, age, sexual preferences, religious beliefs, political views etc.Donât publish photos that you would not want to share with your mother.When you join go immediately to your privacy settings in your profile and take a close look at the options.Go back to Facebook to demonstrate how to change profile.
