- The swells of change, scale, inequality and sensory experience - cities are polluted, unhealthy, overwhelming, confusing and alienating - can it become the Good City?
- yes but it requires our ever increasing habit of solidarity build around the urban common realm but isnt that purely about politics and not technology?
- cities have a machinic order that regulates all aspects of urban life, road signs, post codes, pipes and overhead cables, satelittes, clocks, computers, telephones, cars, software, schedules and databases. So if the machinery is the technological unconscious of the life suport system of the city without which urban life would end how do we use it consciously so that we can use our shared common in moving from everything in the city being “the other” and instead become common ground?
