4. Dick’s Sporting Goods (Cont.) By driving social media with E-mail, Dick’s Sporting Goods has allowed people to start engaging with the company by using incentives. (Ex. Twitter)
5. Chick-fil-A Use POS (point of service) operating systems to generate important information pertaining to sales. Ex. Daily sales report to identify trends. Ex. Daily time report to help the operator track employees and the hours worked. Ex. Report for a particular day from the previous year to predict sales.
6. Chick-fil-A (Cont.) The BackOffice PC server in each restaurant is also used to help the owner/operators maintain the store. Ex. Monitor labor, product movement, food cost, and hourly sales.
7. Walmart As the world’s largest company, Walmart must continuously evolve their technology. Ex. Has been working on radio frequency identification to keep track of supplies, which may replace bar codes in the future.
8. Walmart (Cont.) Runs the company’s centralized information system for their operations all over the world in Bentonville, Arkansas. By keeping their system centralized, the company can run it on common platforms to drive their costs down and become efficient.
