February 2012 – November 2014. Nokia, now Microsoft Devices and Sales (MDS)
In February 2012 I was hired by Nokia for the position of Workplace Area Manager for LTA
& Brazil. This position controls the Facilities and Real Estate portfolio of the company in
Latin America. Because of this hire, I moved from my native country Chile to Brazil.
As from February the 1st
2014, I was promoted as RE&F MDS Portfolio Manager for the
Americas, looking after the whole Microsoft Devices portfolio in the Americas region,
assisting Microsoft with the transition or closure of former Nokia facilities as well as
keeping the services and contracts running as usual.
Within my skills I can highlight: contract negotiation, service coordination, planning,
leadership, team player, focused on processes, flexibility, case follow up, customer
satisfaction and commitment with my company and subordinates. I speak and write in
three languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Some of my responsibilities and activities were:
RE portfolio management.
Security management of sites where Corp Security was not available, monitoring
remotely and on site (guards, visitors, CCTV, investigations, etc)
Providing guidance to our broker when negotiating leases or negotiating contracts
directly when needed.
Implementation of RE strategies and policies.
Plan and manage de OPEX and CAPEX budget for the region.
Accountable for providing high quality facility services, fulfilling local and company
standards.
Project management of individual projects within the overall portfolio (new, closure
and move of sites).

Supporting the process of project prioritization, approval and initiation, including
supplier selection (where applicable).

being a reliable partner to them by providing accurate data and plans that match
the company strategy bringing added value to it.
2. June 2005 – January 2012 Cushman & Wakefield
Facility and Project Manager at Nokia. In June 2005 I was hired by Cushman & Wakefield
as Facility Manager for Nokia, job that I performed with success. In 2008 I was promoted
to Senior Workplace Manager for LTA, being responsible assisting Nokia’s Area manager
with the whole portfolio of Nokia offices in LTA, managing all the site managers where
Nokia had an office in the region, like: Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Peru and
Argentina.
Some of my major achievements during this period were consolidating a high standard
team and partners working for the account, implementation of Nokia’s workplace initiatives
in the region. We were able to obtain more than USD 100K in savings during 2H 2010 (5%
of the OPEX) and promote future saving initiatives for the coming years. Concerning
project management achievements, I can highlight the construction of the Nokia office in
Venezuela, expending less than planned and according to the schedule. After the
earthquake in Chile in February 2010, I was able to re-open the office in 3 days, providing
a secure working environment to the employees, in spite of the damages suffered by the
site and the lack of construction materials and workers available after the natural disaster.
