Production Process Evaluation
Research
• My research really helped me find out what to include in my audio project
as well as what to include. Once id decided to do a podcast, I researched
different podcasts and what to include. I researched what would appeal to
my audience for it to be a“ escape” podcast witch I wanted people to
listen to and zone out. Therefore, I investigated different music to include
and different topics I could talk about. I investigated the best apps to use
and compared them to find the best audio. I chose anchor as I thought it
was easy and included great music that fitted with my podcast. I think this
was a real strength during my research as it allowed me to get the best out
of my project. I feel I could have improved my music slightly better to
make it more unique or maybe even created my own. I think the weakness
of my research was the podcast description as I didn’t research this that
much and spend as much time on it. This would have had a better effect
on my podcast as it could have increased my audience appeal.
Planning
• The strengths of my planning was the scripting as it allowed me to plan
what to include in my podcast and what I was going to say. I also found the
planning of what to include helpful as the research allowed me to discover
what I was going to say and make it go smoothly. This had a great effect on
my podcast as It made my podcast look more professional and organised. I
planned what day I was going to film each part, so I had a schedule to stick
too.
Time Management
• I managed my time well; I feel I also got my project in on a good time.
However, I would have liked more time to make some of the audio a little
less snappy as I feel I could have made it more professional. I would have
also liked to have more time to find music that I truly thought fitted with
the audio, I feel I slightly rushed this part as well as creating my podcast
cover. If I had additional time, I would have made the cover more
professional and spent more time on my description. I could have added
more time to my planning to make this less of a problem.
Technical Qualities
• I recorded my podcast in a studio which
allowed my background to be silent and make
it professional. I also used the edit tool to cut
and certain videos to make them shorter and
remove my mistakes. I also re played the clips
so I could check to see what they were like
and how I liked them. I also used my air pods
to create a professional mic and make the
sound audio clearer.
Aural Qualities
• In my opinion I think my work sounds good, I
tried to make it fun and upbeat in places.
However, some of my audio could have been
clearer in places. However, I used the studio
so there was hardly any background sound
which made it professional.
Audience Appeal
My audience was aimed at women and specifically ages 15-19. I made
sure I created content which would appeal and keep them entertained
like self-love and feminism. I appealed to an audience that could have
the platforms like Spotify and all the aps that support my podcast. This
was to make sure my audience could download it freely and easily. I
wanted it to be a place people could listen to and escape. Just like
things like movies, music. I did this by making it interesting.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product? "I liked the pacing of the
podcast, it wasn't rushed, and it flowed well. The topics were
planned, and the choice of interviewees suited the audience. The
editing was very professional, and the choice of sounds really made
the whole piece come together. The tone of voice was very relaxed
and calming and it made it feel familiar and because it was a very
personal topic it made you feel relaxed and comfortable to relate
and share"
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• " The introduction could have been a bit shorter and not a list type
way of reeling off all the topics you were going to talk about as it
felt a little overwhelming to take on so much right at the start and
some finer editing of parts of repetition or pauses in the discussions
would have made it flow seamlessly"
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product? " the
podcast was helpful to the younger
generations, and it was good to listen to and
very helpful.
What improvements could have been made to
the product? Make it a little longer.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product? " it was
professionally put together, clear and easy to
listen too. There was good relevant topics.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? " no criticism I could say"
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback? I agree that the podcast was relaxing, I
also think that it was flowed well with the music.
It was also informative and helpful to the
audience I was appealing too.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback? I disagree that there was nothing to
improve as I feel there was some editing
to certain clips witch I could of done better.
Peer Feedback Summary
I feel like my feedback is helpful as it gives me an insight into what
my audience thought of my podcast and how I could improve it as
well as my strengths. I agree making my podcast longer would of
benefited me as it might of made it even more professional, I do
agree I could of edited certain places better to make them less
sharp and flow more smoother
