Teaching approach:
I will use PPP ( PRESENTATION - PRACTICE- PRODUCTION), based in the Natural Approach, through it students are
encouraged to speak English in a natural way but it is integrated with a PPP APPROACH cause students learn the topics in a
coherent context.

2. Students will sit on their chairs, they will stand up to greet as every class and when they need to come to the
desk to ask something or to complete some exercise on the board.
Cooperative work.
They will work in a cooperative way when they help their partners in the oral activity.
Assessment:
I will assess them during the class when they use the past of to be in the correct way: affirmative, negative and
interrogative form.
Routine: 5’
Purpose:
-To greet students.
When I go into the classroom, students are sitting on their chairs, they stand up and we greet.
Me: “Hello, everybody, how are you today?
Students: “Hello, teacher, we are fine!
Me: Great, I´m fine too!
Transition: Wonderful, Let´s do the first activity!
Warm-up 10’:
- To get students into the mood of work.
- To revise some of the contents the students learnt in previous classes that help them to understand the
new teaching points.
- I will set the context speaking about ancient Egyptians , their habits, their favourite food and drinks,
their activities, etc because in their copybooks and History subject they have been working with
Egyptians and Romans, S will listen to a cd about Egyptian feasts.
- I chose this listening because in their English books they will work with a topic about Egyptians.) This is
the text that they will listen to.
-After S will listen to the cd three times. T will write these sentences on the board and then they will say
if they are true or false.
1. There was music in their feasts.
2. Their feasts were important and luxurious.
3. There were singers and dancers.
3. 4. There wasn´t gold on their tables.
5. Some Egyptians were rich.
- After they write true or false, they will listen to the text again and then they will check their
answers.
Transition: Ok , fantastic!
Presentation (10’)
-To introduce the new teaching points.
- First everybody will work with their copybook, T will choose a S to read it.
- After they will tell about what is it the text about.
- Students will work with this reading in their books. (page 99)
- First, Students will read quietly and individually.
- After, S will read aloud the text. T will choose the S that will read and they will able to ask about new words.
- When they finish T will ask them about these verbs and these sentences on the text:

4. 1) Egyptians lived in small villages. 2) They produced food from animals. 3) They washed the River Nile .
-T will ask S some questions as : What happens with these verbs? Do you know their meaning? Why do they have
the same ending?
-They will begin to say different probably answers about these questions (because some of them have already
studied this tense in extra English classes in private Institute) as “it is the past tense” or “they are regular
verbs” then T will write the sentences from the text on the board.
Now , I will ask students :
What do all the words in black have in common?
Sure, they will say “ED”.
Then I will say them “ YES, Ok they are in PAST. They are regular verbs”
- What do you think that happens with these verbs in past? Why do you add “ed” to these verbs?

Read the text again. Are the statements true (T) or false (F) or not mentioned (NM)
Ancient Egyptians were farmers.
1) This ancient civilization lived in a small country.
2) They washed their clothes in the river.
3) All rich people lived in a house with a pool.
4) Their bedrooms were downstairs.
5) Only rich boys worked at home.
Activity 2
Now, we are going to copy the chart in their copybooks.

-S will find and underline in the text “Life in Ancient Egypt” more sentences in past regular verb.
-S will write these sentences in their copybooks.
-When they finish the activity, they will read them.
For example:
They lived in small houses.
Some rich people lived in houses with a pool.
They liked meat and fish.
They loved pets too.
They cooked and cleaned.
Transition: Ok, good! Now we are going to learn habits about Romans.
Activity 4
- T will give them six sentences about Romans habits.
- They will put the words in order to make sentences.
