This document outlines the lesson plan for a secondary level English class focusing on the past tense of the verb "to be". The 80-minute lesson plan includes the following:

Students will sit on their chairs, they will stand up to greet as every class and when they need to come to the
desk to ask something or to complete some exercise on the board.

I will assess them during the class when they use the past of to be in the correct way: affirmative, negative and
interrogative form.
Routine: 5’
Purpose:
-To greet students.
When I go into the classroom, students are sitting on their chairs, they stand up and we greet.
Me: “Hello, everybody, how are you today?
Students: “Hello, teacher, we are fine!
Me: Great, I´m fine too!
Transition: Wonderful, Let´s do the first activity!
Warm-up 10’:
- To get students into the mood of work.
- To revise some of the contents the students learnt in previous classes that help them to review the
previous topics.
- I will say S that they are going to listen to a recording about Emily´s mail.
- First you will listen to a mail!
- After that students listen to the mail , I will ask them some questions:
1) Where was Emily last year?
2) Was she at the same school?
3) Was art her favorite subject?
4) Were there eighteen students in the class?
Transition: Ok , fantastic!
Presentation (10’)
-To revise the topics.
-I will give Ss a copy of the mail and they are going to work with it.
3. - S will read it individually when they will finish they will do a socialization about the meaning of it.
- After, they will match the topics 1 and 2 with the correct paragraphs A and B of the mail.

- T will ask them which paragraph is in past tense? To encourage them to answer B.
- After, S only will read paragraph B and they have to find the past sentences of these sentences and
underline or highlight the verbs:

-To practise the points.

- S will paste the copy of the mail in their copybooks and S will read it to complete this chart.
- Read it and underline the past verbs that you find in it.

- After S will read about Emily´s school, two Ss come to the blackboard to complete it.
