Cisco at ANGA 2014: Next Gen Video Solutions
1. Cisco at ANGA 2014: Next Gen Video Solutions
By Bruno Touret, Technical Marketing Manager, EMEAR, Cisco
Did you know? The place to be in May 20-22 is Cologne, one of the largest metropolitan
cities in Europe, but also the place where ANGA COM takes place. Once more, Cisco
will be exhibiting the best of its technologies.
Our newly designed stand will guide you through 3 main areas:
The Cable Access Area: where we will show our current deployments and next gen
platforms.
Our modular CCAP solution with uBR10k/ RFGw10k is the only solution in the market
that allows a true video and DOCSIS convergence. We will of course also
highlight increased scalability of uBR10K with 6G-SPA.
Next, our first public demo of our NG Integrated CCAP platform with cBR8 where we
will highlight broadband scaling capabilities showing live traffic.
In this area we will also have Remote PHY which is available today using uBR10k -
Remote PHY is a distributed DOCSIS architecture that’s a foundation for enabling
DOCSIS 3.1 very high modulations, transition to digital fibre and to NFV
And of course our SDN solution – here we will show a few SDN apps running on
CMTS to demonstrate how it helps operators to offer faster services.
The Connected Home area will bring many technologies together and will give a real
vision on how the home of the future can be managed. Here again we will have a share
of existing deployments and more visionary stories including specific examples of the
Internet of Everything applications. As part of the later, our Connected Life demo will
bring together applications and services that can unlock new revenue streams for SPs.
How? Simple - with new and dynamic lifestyle experiences that enrich subscribers’
lives. We will have specific examples around security services for the home, managing
energy equipment and remove ehealth application.
2. UHD is another hot topic this year - at Cisco we will show how we can help operators to
deliver an immersive and real-life video experience to their customers thanks to our
latest Unified Gateway solution serving Ultra-HD content to multiple home devices
including next generation IP STB.
Other technologies will be present - without going into details, we will have our
latest RDK deployments running advanced UX like Snowflake 14; sophisticated
Gateways delivering 4k content and DOCSIS Gateways enabling very high
bandwidth; WIFI optimization for video and data; Nano set-top boxes – and some very
clever Home management Application allowing the operator to run the home from a
distance.
Last but not least, our third area will be dedicated to Videoscape
Our Videoscape solutions will be mainly focused on cloud activities showing how open,
modular and agile solutions can really change your business.
Videoscape Cloud Software will demonstrate that services can be run on any public
cloud, but also on private infrastructure, including OpenStack – whilst with Videoscape
Cloud Services, you can purchase services as you grow. Some live OTT services from
Videoscape infrastructures will be showcased, including the latest deployments of our
User Interface Snowflake. For an even more agile and cost effective solution, our
Videoscape Express solution be present.
This will hopefully give you a taste of what’s to come! So come to see us, at ANGA
COM which is starting on 20th May. You will find us in Hall 10.2 on booth J13.
