SRB Section; Orders Section; Unit Diary
Assisting in the Recruit Administration Center (RAC) by performing a wide variety of interrelated and non-standard Military HR support work to include;
assembling all required documentation for inclusion in the Service Record Book (SRB) necessary to begin Marine Corps recruit training. Ensures the
completeness and proper handling and maintenance of all SRBs for recruits attached to the Regiment and performs a substantive review of SRBs to determine
eligibility for personnel actions.
Responsible for updating records, processing routine military personnel actions and providing standard benefits information to recruits such as; Service
Member’s Group Life Insurance (SGLI), Montgomery G.I. Bill (MGIB), Record of Emergency Data (RED), and Federal & State taxes (W-4). Reviews,
verifies, and inputs training data and required entries for every recruit using the Unit Diary Marine Integrated Personnel System (UDMIPS). Reviews
documents to identify and process corrections to mismatched data using the military personnel automated system Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS)
and UDMIPS. Responds to inquiries in writing using the appropriate format and applicable rules and regulations. Drafts and reviews official routine
correspondence prior to officer’s signature. Uses personal computer with office applications to perform operation or to prepare complex documents
containing tables or graphs and uses online HR resources to obtain information accessible over the internet as needed. Reviews, verifies, and inputs personal
data for every recruit using the DOD Real-time Automated Personnel identification System (RAPIDS) and the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting
System (DEERS) to issue their Common Access Card (CAC)). Uses word processing, database, and graphic software to create, copy, edit, store or retrieve
data and forms.
Schedules and conducts counseling for military personnel separating from service. Prepares Case Files, and mails final discharge documents as required.
Prepares Enlisted Service Records, Medical, Dental Record books for mailing to appropriate designated distribution and archive agencies, such as Headquarters
Marine Corps and Department of Veteran Affairs and State or Regional Veterans Affairs.
Utilize various computer programs to manipulate/process data necessary to support mission requirements, which include unit diary preparation, reports,
populating forms, operating instructions, procedural instructions, etc. Maintain appropriate correspondence files and directives as it pertains to the associated
functional branch of the Recruit Admin Branch. Prepare documentation for inclusion in the members Service Record Book (SRB). Verify data within the
Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS). Take necessary steps to safeguard private/confidential/controlled documents. Extract information from the
Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS) and Operator Data Store Enterprise (ODSE); Prepare/verify Unit Diary (UDMIPS) information input into the
system. Operate end user computer equipment and customer information control system equipment. Utilize the following programs: Marine Corps Total
Force System (MCTFS), Unit Diary (UDMIPS), Operator Data Store Enterprises (ODSE), Marine Corps Training Information System (MCTIMS), Marine
Online (MOL) and Report Studio.
Administer Defense Language Proficiency Tests (DLPT): Both reading and listening to Recruits and Active Duty Personnel both from the Depot and other
outside Duty Stations and agencies. Administer of the Armed Forces Classification Tests (AFCT) and Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) to Active
Duty Personnel for various Career Program Submissions, forwarding all test completions with appropriate correspondence to Headquarters Marine Corps.
Utilize and maintain the security of the RAPIDS/DEERS system and process Common Access Cards for Recruits. Use data collected and/or disseminated via
UDMIPS, MCTFS, & MCTIMS or in-house database utilities. Utilize and develop a proficiency in using Marine Corps Training Information Management
System (MCTIMS), Unit Diary Management Integrated Personnel System (UDMIPS), and Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS). Defining and
downloading proper information in Microsoft Office Access Database and MCTFS for rosters and preparing management reports of tester's information for
further tracking. Advise customers on eligibility requirements and processing procedures. Assist in providing informational briefings on assigned area using
materials developed by others. Verify eligibility and other requirements have been met. Obtains appropriate coordination from various agencies within the
