Career History
Grounds Maintenance Operative 2015-Present
• Carry out a range of grounds maintenance tasks: grass cutting, raking, edging, weeding,
sweeping, litter picking, chemical application etc. Including driving and operating a wide
range of vehicles, plant and equipment including vehicle attached machinery,
pedestrian and ride on machinery and hand held equipment to maintain parks and open
spaces to the required standards. Undertake daily routine safety and maintenance
checks ensuring that vehicles, machinery and equipment used is well maintained, kept
clean and not exposed to the risk of damage or loss/theft. Complete documents relating
to the role of the post e.g. daily work records, vehicle/equipment defect reporting,
overtime claims etc.
Served in The British Army since 2001 - 2014
• Successfully completed four 7 month tours of duty: 3 to Iraq as rifle man, gunner &
mortar platoon in 2003, 2005/6 & 2008. 1 to The Falkland islands as part of the UK rapid
reaction force 2011. 1 to Afghanistan Helmand Provence as part of the mortar platoon

• Carried out routine daily checks of equipment
• Account for the quality & quantity of ordnance available
• Insured all members of the 3 man team where aware of the situation & effective in their
roll
• Defense system supervisor, Number 1 on a Mortar barrel 3 man team 2007 - present.
• Successfully completed two driving courses for two types of armored vehicles in 2007.
• Dealt with problems on a daily basis in all conditions around the world, from UK &
European bases to the Middle East including Iraq/Afghanistan. These problems include:
fixing a broken vehicle(s), maintaining equipment to regulated health & safety
standards, coming under attack from the enemy, managing in all adverse weather
conditions, from frost bite to de-hydration.
• Team medic for all tours of duty, responsible for 8 men. Dealt with casualties military &
civilian. Providing lifesaving first aid. Being able to task outsourced agencies i: e
helicopters, ground vehicles.
Sub contracted Quality controller for Jaguar LandRover Ltd 1999 -2001
• Monitor plant, equipment and process operations for correct performance including the
buy off of new equipment.
• Support Maintenance Supervisor covering production when required
• Produce continuous improvement plans while continually improving maintenance
methods.
• Monitor plant, equipment and process operations for correct performance and define
and implement strategies that drive improvement
• Develop educational/training plans for shift personnel including delivery of training
programs.
• Track and monitor automation cycle times and improve where required
