2. Sat. June 5, 2021 @ 9am
Standard Ceremony:
IF we can have ONE ceremony with the full class,
our tentative date is Sat. June 5, 2021 @ 9am.
Traditionally WOHS has one large ceremony in the stadium with
each senior having 10 to 14 tickets. If one ceremony is
permitted, the number of guests will likely be limited this year.
3. Sat. June 5, 2021
ALT :
The class may need to be divided into groups to allow
for a reasonable number of guests. In this case, WOHS
would conduct up to 4 ceremonies on Sat. June 5, 2021.
One Date, 4 Ceremonies
Pre-COVID, the inclement weather plan is to divide the class & conduct
separate ceremonies inside. ALT 1 is that plan with divisions by academies &
up to 4 ceremonies (9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm) in the ETPAC or gym.
4. June 7, 8, or 9, 2021
ALT :
If conditions don’t allow several moderate sized groups
to graduate at the same time, WOHS can conduct
individual ceremonies for each senior & his or her guests.
3 Dates, Individual Ceremonies
In June 2020, graduation was designed to give proper recognition to each
grad, provide formality for the occasion, & maximize the number of guests. If
needed, WOHS will conduct individual ceremonies on June 7, 8 and 9, 2021.

5. Other ALTERNATIVES:
Drive-In Ceremonies
Unlikely based on lack of
student interest. But FYI…
Drive-Thru Ceremonies
Virtual Ceremony Only
Students graduate outside in small groups. Guests view by vehicle.
Individual ceremony, outside. Students drive-up, diploma is conferred.
Graduation is conducted virtually through a digital platform.
Sat. June 5, 2021
6. • Governor’s Executive Order at the time.
• NCDHHS limits on crowd sizes.
• Guidance/directives from NCDPI.
• Guidance/directives the OCS BOE.
• Student interest survey results.
Other Considerations
Available staff outside of the school calendar.
Event planning needs, timelines, deadlines,
invitations, and family planning.
Grade processing, calendar conflicts.
Seniors have indicated that while
graduating with friends is important, a
higher priority is on maximizing the number
of family/friends who can attend.
