Skills & Accomplishments
STRATEGY & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
· Managed narrow network development for Meritus in Pima and Mohave counties. Worked directly with local health
systems to build an affordable product that targeted their Medicaid churn and subsidy population. Work included
network development, product development, market strategy and launch.
· Assisted with the development and implementation of new and expanded hospital based patient care programs for The
University of Arizona Health Network; including assessment of market and organizational readiness for programs,
creation of financial program projections and program feasibility. Successful program expansions included a new
gastrointestinal laboratory, new and expanded emergency department, diabetes and family medicine clinic and
behavioral health pavilion.
· Partnered internally with physicians on business development strategies to increase patient referrals in to the health
system. Worked directly with senior leadership from a large primary care practice in the community to trouble shoot
operational issues, identify referral patterns and improve relationships between the organizations to better care for
shared patients and increase specialty referrals.
OPERATIONS & INTEGRATION
· Successfully managed complex operational improvement initiatives within a health system. Expert in working in cross
functional teams to identify areas of improvement and to implement positive change. Specific projects include
centralization of gastrointestinal call center and procedure scheduling, Patient Access department flow improvements,
physician referral intake improvement and numerous facility enhancement initiatives.
· Served as hospital liaison with Pima County to ensure operational compliance and maintain funding. This work required
drafting and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports based on program strategies, financial reports and
volume data and projections.
· Assisted in operationalizing the Meritus Marketing Department by determining adequate staffing, developed job
descriptions and implemented proper systems and processes around the Arizona Department of Insurance advertising
regulations.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
· Assisted Meritus in the development and launch of branding and advertising campaigns during their first open
enrollment season. Work included identifying target markets, drafting benefits messaging and determining best
communication vehicles to reach potential members. Simultaneously, worked with an agency to launch a branding
campaign to educate Arizonan’s about their newest health insurance option.

· Directed hospital marketing and public relations activities. Created a hospital community relations program and served
as the community liaison, acted as the Public Information Officer, assisted in the development of marketing and
advertising plans for physicians and services. Additionally, served as a member on the Branding Team to launch the
new name and brand of The University of Arizona Health Network
