3. Tyrannosaur (2011)
This is an example of an independent
film that Optimum Home Entertainment
distributed
The film is directed by Paddy Considine
(His directing debut), it is a follow on
from an original short film called Dog
Altogether (2007)
It grossed $22,088 in the US box office
opening on only 5 screens

4. Sacrament (2012)
Optimum Home Releasing would be a
good example of the sort of company
that would distribute our film because
our film would be a low budget
independent film that was funded by
local film companies such as EM Media
It would only have a limited release on
cinema screens, most likely to be in art
cinemas or small local cinemas

5. 20th Century Fox
20th Century Fox are a global
conglomerate which deals in releasing
top films across many media formats ,
such as cinema, DVD and Blu-ray
They distributed Fargo (1996) which
was one of the films I reviewed as part
of my research into thriller films
20th Century
Fox
6. Fargo (1996)
Fargo, directed by the Coen Brothers is
an example of a similar genre film to
ours that was released by 20th Century
Fox
It had a much bigger budget than
Tyrannosaur (2011), $7,000,000
estimated, and grossed as much as
$60,000,000 on the worldwide box office
7. Sacrament (2012)
20th Century Fox would be a less obvious
company to distribute our film, because
they tend to stick with films that have
include big name writers, actors, directors
because they would be more confident of
turning over a profit
They would be less inclined to distribute an
independent film like ours because there
would be no guarantee that the film would
be a hit, and therefore it would be more
risky
