Relevant Professional Experience & Accomplishments
Clarion Hotel, Essington, PA- Shuttle Bus Driver (2008-present)
Westlake Plastics Inc., Lenni, PA—Medical and Industrial Thermoplastics
INSIDE SALES/QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR/ (2010-2016)
• Responsible for generating Certificates of Conformance assuring all
customer specifications, special requirements, and minimal
physical/chemical testing data are being met.
• Maintained inventory system providing all information related to the
traceability of both clinical and implant medical materials.
• At the request of a customer for material to be delivered ASAP, I proposed to
management re-inspection of material deemed scrap for one application, utilizing
the slightly smaller template of the related part in desperate need for the
customer. The process yielded $35,000 of immediate acceptable product, which
eliminated the need to quote a long lead time, and triggered inspection changes
guaranteeing better yields in the future.
PCI/GTP, Exton, PA—Medical Parts Manufacturer and Distributor
MEDICAL INSIDE SALES/QUALITY SERVICE TECH (2004-2009)
• Served as company liaison between our manufacturing/engineering
personnel, and similar personnel of our two largest medical accounts,
assisting with quoting and drawing clarification when needed. I generated
purchase and/or work orders as required when entering new customer
orders into our system.
2. • Placed “cold calls” to perspective customers in order to identify any needs
we might meet, or to persuade the buyer to consider utilizing a plastic that
might reduce costs and outperform the current material.
• Handled customer requests for expediting parts, conveying any additional
costs incurred and the “best date” for delivery.
• Established custom purchase orders to procure non-stock diameters of
frequently machined raw materials, generating $45,000 annual savings due
to reduction in cost of both raw material and machine time. This lead to
the decrease in lead time requested by Synthes.
• Awarded 2008 Employee of The Year Award due to initiating cost reduction
ideas, continually receiving high customer approval ratings, and reducing our
inventory levels by working closely with customers to develop more accurate
forecasting, while reducing production lead times due to better efficiency.
Teleflex Inc., King of Prussia PA—Fortune 500 Company
SALES AND PROJECT MANAGER/QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER (1985-1989)
• Established and managed Teleflex’s first certified FAA Repair Station, providing
spare parts sales and repair service for two West Germany companies to all of the
Americas. Travelled to Germany to establish methods of controlling all aspects
of doing business, commissions, the ordering process, and inventory levels for
spare parts, complete assemblies and AOG (Aircraft On Ground) inventory.
• Initiated a trip to Toronto to visit Warair due to an exurbanite amount of
“defective” Power Drive Units totaling $50,000 in damages. During the service
trip I diagnosed the need for a delay switch in the air cargo system after
observing the existence of split second multi-direction forces, which were caused
by the speed of the operator using the control stick.
• Served as the contact for Aircraft On Ground service. My home phone number
was given to all customers for 24 hour AOG service. This service required that I
accept calls at any time and deliver from inventory any part to an agreed upon
destination at the airport within a short amount of time.
