The 91 year 9 pupils from a school in Bristol participated in a study for the University of Bristol that aimed to discover how the environment pupils live in affects their physical activity levels and where they go to be active. The pupils filled out a questionnaire about where they live and what they do and wore an activity and GPS monitor for a week. On average, pupils were moderately active for 29 minutes per day, with girls being slightly more active at 30 minutes and one tutor group ("W") being more active at 43 minutes. Most pupils used motorized transportation to get to school.
