Girl Scouts hold 24-Hour Relay to Fundraise for Charities
(Fresno, Calif.) – The Girl Scouts of Central California South will hold its inaugural 24-Hour
“Relay to Help the World” charity fundraising event on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Woodward
Park. A relay campground will be set up with booths, contests, and donations tables for all
participants and spectators. Opening ceremonies will kick off the event at 9 a.m. and
festivities will conclude Saturday, May 21, at 9 a.m.
At the event, Girl Scouts troops and their leaders from Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, and
Tulare counties will gather for the organizations biggest fundraising event of the year. Each
troop will raise money for specific charities they have selected and present the grand total
to representatives at the conclusion of the relay.
“This is going to be an exciting and inspiring event,” said Jordan King, marketing and
communications manager. “Our Girl Scouts love giving back to the community and this is a
great opportunity for them to do that.”
