2. A Brief Overview of SSL Certificate
➢ SSL certificate is small data file that digitally bind a cryptographic key. SSL certificate is
installed on web server to establish a secure encrypted connection between a browser
and a server.
➢ SSL certificate turns your website address from HTTP to HTTPS.
➢ SSL secured website assures visitors that site is authenticated and their online
transactions will remain secure using 256-bit encryption from snooping eyes.
➢ HTTPS enabled website increases trust of visitors, that may helpful to boost conversions
and profit.
➢ Three Types of SSL certificates: Domain Validation (DV), Organization Validation (OV) &
Extended Validation (EV).

3. Step 1: Login to VestaCP, Go to “WEB” tab, Locate “Edit” button and Click on “SSL Support”
checkbox (Prescribed form will be generated, that includes following text fields):

4. Step 2: Now your Certificate, RSA Private Key (which you saved after CSR generation) and CA
Bundle in simple text files should be put into the corresponding fields and push “Save” button to
generate CSR link.

5. Step 3: Browse control panel at CheapSSLshop.com and Locate “MANAGE SSL” button with
details like payment status, configuration PIN and Configuration Link. Click on the button.
Step 4: Provide the CSR (generated in second step) and email address given at the time of
domain name registration.
Step 5: After completing the details, you will be emailed a zip file that contains 4 files including:

AddTrustExternalCARoot.crt

6. Step 6: Open first three files. Now copy code of three files and paste into one text file as precise
order: (Below is an image)

7. Step 7: Now go back to Vesta Control Panel and
➔ Copy the content of domain_com.crt in first box “SSL Certificate”.
➔ In the second box “SSL key”, copy the SSL key shown in step-2.
➔ In the third box “SSL certificate authority/Intermediate” copy the new file, created in
step-6.
Step 8: Click on SAVE button at the bottom of the page and access your website with https://.

8. Test SSL Certificate Installation
➔ Your certificate has been installed and you can check it using following tools:

➔ If you click on the lock icon, you can see some more information about the SSL
connection.
