To whom it may concern
On behalf of the South African Union of Jewish Students (SAUJS) it gives me great pleasure to formally
nominate Miss. Chaya Esther Pomeranz for the position of Chairperson of the World Union of Jewish
Students.
Both SAUJS as a student organization and I personally have engaged with Chaya over the last two years,
specifically at the World Union of Jewish Students Congress and the Muslim-Jewish Conference. During
the interactions, it is of the view of SAUJS that Chaya has demonstrated remarkable commitment and
passion to Jewish students and Jewish student politics not only in Israel but in Diaspora communities as
well. Additionally, Chaya has shown to be a discerning, thoughtful and inspirational leader and SAUJS
thus believes Chaya to be the best candidate for the position as Chairperson.
SAUJS wishes to thank Mr. Oliver Worth for his outstanding job as Chairperson of WUJS, and wishes
Chaya and the rest of the WUJS team best of luck. In these trying circumstances for Israel and Israel-
affiliated organisations around the world it is imperative that the highest caliber of student leaders are
retained and all the incredible resources, ideas, projects and initiatives well managed and utilized.
