Attn: WUJS Board
On behalf of the National Union of Israeli Students (NUIS) it is my great
pleasure to formally endorse Chaya Pomeranz’s candidacy for the position of
Chairperson of the World Union of Jewish Students.
NUIS supported the Executive decision to co-opt Chaya for the
position in June of 2013 and have since, under her Chairmanship maintained
close contact with WUJS and have researched opportunities whereby NUIS
could be of assistance to WUJS both in terms of providing office space,
assistance in receiving government funding and sharing organizational best
practices. We have watched WUJS take off the ground these past six months
and get back on its feet. Under Chaya’s supervision WUJS has entered into
important discussions with leading organizations to help strengthen the
organization. She has begun to clear its old debs, sort through the financial
and legal situation and has created an infrastructure that in these trying times
for the Jewish people will ensure that WUJS will be able to conduct itself as
an organization worthy of its name.
We have witnessed the awareness towards WUJS increase in a
positive way among students, Jewish organizations, and the Israeli
government and strongly believe it crucial that at this point in WUJS journey,
that we empower Chaya to continue on the path in which she is leading the
organization and ensure its stability and legitimacy in the coming years.
Kind regards,
Ori Reshtik
Chairperson
National Union of Israeli Students
