2. Driven by the concept of unconventionality, hand printed
designs are used to introduce unique and innovative aesthet-
ics through experimental processes. By altering traditional
techniques with contemporary manipulations, these designs
provide a new way of exploring creativity through an ele-
ment of concise yet unpredictable outcomes.
Each fabric has been hand crafted ultimately creating a lack
of control over the final aesthetic. This however was counter-
acted by how the fabric was structured prior to the dye appli-
cation formulating juxtaposition between tactile and visual
elements.
Playfulness is a continuous factor in assistance to achieve
highly detailed visual aesthetics. Repetition of processes
build up the complex layers within each design merging col-
our and marks to produce unanticipated features. This was
developed through the idea of purposefully distorting vision
to reduce control over mediums applied to paper and fabric
generating an elegant flow within the visual details.

painting blind, there
was no stopping me.
It just became the new
way of doing it. It was
difficult, but art had
always been difficult,
and having a new set of
difficulties was no bad
thing.”
