WHAT THEY HAVE DONE WELL
• The absence of dialogue adds an edge to the opening; it creates
suspense and eeriness.
• They have bled the colour in all of the shots to give the opening a
grey dismal appearance: a typical thriller convention to set the
scene.
• The acting is brilliant as none of them are smiling or laughing at
inappropriate times and even when they aren't in focus they are
still all acting well through body language.

WHAT THEY COULD IMPROVE ON
• I feel like, by adding a small amount of dialogue into the opening
it would paint a slightly clearer image of the goings on. Whilst too
much dialogue would be bad as it would take away the mystery, in
this particular opening you are completely in the dark with the
plot.
• The title sequence is pretty bland; it does work for the piece but
its not very exciting.

WHAT WENT WELL
• The way the text is presented during the title sequence is
interesting as it falls in in a different way and does so whilst the
footage is still playing in the background.
• They've set it in a place the audience can almost certainly relate
to: and elevator. This setting means the audience can feel the
setting and the struggle of being such in such a confined space.
• The cctv effect from the top corner of the lift is most effective as
you really believe that is how the person is watching him.

WHAT THEY COULD IMPROVE ON
• Some of the acting seems not very believable e.g. when he is
shouting in the lift there is no real desperation in his voice.
• There are frequent close ups of the main characters eyes which
were of bad quality. Whether the bad quality is intentional we
don't know but it looked quite tacky and pointless.
• Some of the camera shots are quite shaky and it looks a little
unprofessional.

WHAT WENT WELL
• The shots are really clear and steady so it looks professional.
• The music is very fitting as the film clearly concerns children so
the eerie lullaby music works well.
• The increase in the sound effect of scribbling increases as the
opening comes to a climax which adds suspense for the spectator
• The plot is chilling to most as we can relate to being vulnerable
children

WHAT THEY COULD IMPROVE ON
• The child’s dialogue at the beginning could do with being better
quality as it lets down the quality filming and editing making the
whole thing feel slightly more amateur.
• The when the title appears on the screen its not very exciting and
would have been better over the top of one of the shots.
