Sound: First few bars of song (bass and snare).

Camera shot/angle: Eye Angle Extreme Close-Up.
Action: The Protagonist’s eyes fill the screen. We RAPIDLY
cut between this and the bass drum until the bass guitar
comes in (for around ten seconds).
Sound: Continuation of first few bars.
Edit to next shot: Cut.

Camera shot/angle: Eye Angle Extreme Close-Up.
Action: Close on bass guitar being played in time with the
song.
Sound: Bass guitar is now audible.

Action: High angle on the bass player (he plays in time
with the song).

Action: Close on electric guitar being played in time with
the music. Variations of previous footage of The
Protagonist’s eyes repeatedly interrupt this sequence. The
Sequence repeats itself with a new shot each time.
Sound: Song continues to play.

Camera shot/angle: High Angle.
Action: Snare drum being hit with sticks.
Sound: This shot is used every time the snare drum is
audible.

Action: Yet another new shot is added to the continually
repeating sequence. This time it’s an introduction to the
narrative/concept of the video: The Protagonist is
buttoning up his shirt and preparing for the average day
at school/college.
Sound: Vocals are now audible.

Scene number: 3 Shot Number: 1 Duration: 3
Camera shot/angle: High-Angle Extreme Close-Up.
Action: The Protagonist ties his shoelaces.
Sound: Vocals continue.

Camera shot/angle: Low-Angle Close-Up.
Action: The Protagonist walks to school. A variation of
this shot would be The Protagonist running to school.
These narrative shots begin to repeat themselves with
variation in order to portray the repetitive nature of The
Protagonist’s everyday life.

Action: The Protagonist walks to school – the camera
focuses on his shoes from above.

Camera shot/angle: Low-Angle Mid-Shot.
Action: The Protagonist reads – the book is at first in
focus until we shift focus on the boy’s eyes. This shot
repeats itself with different variations, a new book
appearing in the shot each time.
Sound: Vocals Continue.

Camera shot/angle: Eye-Angle Extreme Close-Up.
Action: In each variation we see a different line from a
different book. This shot is very quick and repetitive.

Camera shot/angle: Eye-Angle Mid-Shot.
Action: The Protagonist stares at himself in the mirror.
He looks anxious, concerned and uncertain. Each of the
shots become increasingly short (The Protagonist walking
to school, reading books, preparing for school, running to
school, etc.) as the sequence quickens and the song
intensifies.
Sound: Vocals continue.
