• This course really interested me but upon a further look this
wasn’t the style of course that I wanted as it was primarily
focusing on the more social side of media.

15. Academic History
• In secondary school I got a lot more hands-on with the
projects I was doing. When I picked my GCSE's I picked
both Media and Graphic Design. The media portion
taught me how to manipulate moving image and video
work as well as magazine work and print based
projects. This helped me to learn about my target
audiences and how to appeal to them. The Graphic
Design portion taught me how to make a product that
will actually function and work in the real work and this
was a great feeling that something that I made digitally
can actually be in the physical world and work as a
product.
16. Current Study
• The college course that I am currently on has
prepared me well for life in University,
especially the courses that I have chose as
they are a majority coursework based which is
good for me as I am not the best at exams, I
am much better at creating something larger
to present at the end of a year rather than one
performance to show what I know about the
subject.
17. The Future
• After I have finished the course I would ideally
like to go into a job with Graphic Design as a
focus as it is something I enjoy and would be
fun to do as a job. I really enjoy creating things
that can be manifested in real life and I think
that this would be a great opportunity to get
into the world of media.
18. Outside College
• Outside of college I work part time, I usually
work around 20hrs a week, this means
multiple shifts through the week so I have
learnt to manage my time very well between
college and work. This has helped me to learn
about how important managing my time is
and has helped realise this faster than I
probably would have otherwise.
19. Conclusion
• I want to go to University as it will give me
more knowledge in the area of media and this
will also help me to understand more about
the world of media. University will also help
me to get a job in the world of media as a lot
of jobs in media like employees to have a
University degree.
20. Introduction
• I have applied for courses in media as this is a
topic that really speaks to me and really
interests me as today we live in a world that
can be so massively influenced and I think that
to take a part of that would be really exciting
and learn more about this topic.
21. Trips
• I think that events such as the ASFF were very helpful as
they allowed me to see what other people were creating at
the time. This festival was primarily focused on moving
image, whilst not being my favoured topic it still helped me
to understand more about the current media world. I then
also really enjoy the Masterclasses as I get to hear from an
industry professional what the world of media is really like.
Last year we went to see Alice Lowe who stars in films such
as Hot Fuzz and The World’s End. She talked about Women
in Industry and had a really interesting point of view. The
year previous to this we got to see Andi Osho speak about
her work as a performer and as a director, this was a really
interesting insight into the world of acting as well as
directing.
22. ILP
I still primarily agree with everything that I said at the beginning of the year and
looking back at the end of the course I think that I have developed my skills in
Photoshop more than anything with me now knowing how to do basic editing in
Premiere Pro. Over the 2 years I spent the majority of my time working in Photoshop
as print has always been my preference when it comes to creating something and
Photoshop work was my primary focus in Year 2, I think that my knowledge of
Photoshop is fairly extensive but can still be greatly improved.
