2. • When creating our media product there were many different elements that
we included that would attract and address our targeted audience. Within
the opening we included narrative hooks that would make the audience have
constant doubts and questions throughout. Such as, who are they? Why are
they there? What time is it, where is the location and many more that left our
audience constantly asking questions that would hook them into watching
more? It also keeps the audience entertained because they are constantly
thinking and suspecting. This also ensures that they aren’t going to turn off
and lose interest half way through. I think the main narrative hook comes
right at the end of our film when we see a character confronting our main
protagonist. This ends on a cliff hanger, because even though we can guess
who it might be we still aren’t certain.
3. • There are also many editing techniques that have been included within the
opening that people can relate to certain genres. Such as the black and
white merging to show the movement from the present to the past. This
also creates suspense for our audience because it shows that this flashback
is contributing and potentially shows us that this will link into the rest of the
film. Thus causing the audience to maintain a good level of interest. Another
strong point we feel attracts our audience is the titles. By using specific
titles that relate to our chosen genre it also gives the audience a small idea
on what genre the movie might be. It also adds to the overall tone and feel
to the opening. Its also a memorable font, there is also a small selection of
the audience that will find the rolling credits of the actors names and
producers, interesting so my putting these in a memorable font it makes the
stick in the mind.
4. • There are a few different aspects to our film that think would appeal to our
audience. For instance, when the little girl is hiding under the bed. And we
see the main antagonist entering the room with our main protagonist. This
sends alarm bells ringing, and questions flying in he heads of our audience,
on who, what, why, when? This appeals to our audience because it leaves
questioned unopened that will be answered later on.
• Finally, I feel that our music contributed, since it created tension and
suspense which added to the already tense situation of not knowing who is
attacking our older teenage character Paignton. The music also makes the
whole situation feel more dramatic and heightens the audience’s senses.
5. • I also feel that we can address the audience better, because of
the age range of the characters. i believe because they are in a
much younger age. For example, child to teen, this also means
that teens can connect with our some of the characters and
maybe relate with some of their emotions or actions. It also
appeals to more a teenage age range because younger actors
tend to appeal more to their coherent age groups. I also feel
overall that our film appeals to a teenage age range 15 +,
because even though there are more adult themes it still has a
thrill and mystery that will catch their attention.
