3. Centaurus all dressed up to show the
Planetary Accretion occurring in the
beginning stages of our solar system
forming.
Cent equips some safety glasses as the
sun’s UV rays were quite strong back in
the Precambrian (mainly due to lack of
a mature atmosphere). Here she is
showing an example of the massive
volcanic gassing occurring.
4. Red Beds were a quite prominent feature
in the Precambrian as well. Here Cent
shows an excellent example!
Cent has her friend
Magnitude do a fly over of
the first Ice Age in the
Precambrian.
5. Cent has discovered a nice example of
Ediacaran Fauna that were prominent
in water environments in the
Precambrian.
What’s that? Yes, you guessed it,
Acritarchs!
(seen under the microscope, of course!)
6. Lucky Cent discovers some exposed
parts of the North American Craton!
Here, Magnitude scouts out some
awesome shots of the Earth’s
lithosphere forming!
7.
8. Could it be? YES, Cent has found
the Burgess Shale! The Burgess
Shale is the is the most well
preserved snapshot of fauna from
the Cambrian period.
Another common feature in the
Paleozoic were the Epeiric Seas.
They were warm shallow seas that
covered much of the planet.
9. Near the end of the Paleozoic the Earth went through another period of global cooling.
Cent has her friend Magnitude check it out (Cent doesn’t like being cold).
10. The Paleozoic saw its first land
plants. Most of the first plans
were ferns, and they grew quite
large.
Here Cent finds a pinecone! These
early gymnosperms first
appeared in the Paleozoic.
11. Cent has her dagger ready in case
this Dimetrodon attacks!
Dimetrodon first appeared in the
Paleozoic.
Here Cent is pointing out some
amniotic eggs, which also were
new in this time period.
12. It’s time to refer to the map, Cent
examines what Pangaea looked
like when it formed in the
Paleozoic.
There were many subduction
zones like this one here. Here an
oceanic plate is colliding with a
continental plate.
13.
14. The Mesozoic went through three
periods of cooling. Cooling
occurred during the end of the
Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous.
Cent has her bf Magnuuz get
these exclusive shots of the bolide
impact crater that led to the
mass extinction at the end of the
Mesozoic.
15. Pollinating Insects first appeared
in the Mesozoic.
Magnitude sneaks up on a group
of Dinosaurs who peaked in the
Mesozoic.
17. The Rocky Mountains and The
Sierra Nevada's form from the
Laramide Orogeny and Nevadan
Orogeny.
During the Mesozoic the
supercontinent Pangaea starting
the rifting process, slowly
spreading apart.
(Cent uses her map to show the process.)
18.
19. Here you can see a basin and
range event, they are
distinguishable because of the
rippled/stretched appearance.
The Cenozoic also saw another ice
age.
(why does the Blood Elf have to do all the dirty work?)
20. Angiosperms dominated the
Cenozoic and were 90% of all the
floura.
The Great Irish Elk was another
species that lived during the
Cenozoic.
21. Other life forms appearing in the Cenozoic:
Dire Wolves
Whales
Goblins?
Humans Primates
22. Vigorous volcanism occurred with
large intrusions of magma during
the Cenozoic.
Also taking place were many
events causing faults. One
famous fault that formed in the
Cenozoic was the San Andreas,
which is a transform fault.
23. Cent and her friends hope you enjoyed your tour!
