2. Analyze the Learner.
Students are 11th Graders
There are 20 students in total
13 are Female, 12 are male
12 of the students are white, 5 are African-American, and 3 are Hispanic.
Students should have prior knowledge of U.S. history up to 1870.
3. Main Objective
Ove the course of one school week, Students will show an understanding
of the major Socio-Political events of the Gilded Age and will acquiring the
knowledge through note taking, YouTube Videos and class discussion,
while also demonstrating this knowledge through the use of Voki, with a
100 % degree of accuracy.
4. Day by Day Breakdown.
Day One: Students will be taking notes on the events leading up to the beginnings of the
Gilded Age.
Day Two: Students will watch a short YouTube video on the politics of the Gilded Age.
Day Three: Students will examine the various Presidential Elections throughout the Gilded Age
and how those Presidencies influenced the Gilded Age.
Day Four: Students will begin creating their Voki by breaking up into ten groups of two. The
Voki will be based on someone from the time period and should be able to describe what the
person did during the Gilded Age and how they influenced the time period.
Day Five : Students will present their Vokis to their fellow classmates and should be prepared
to answer questions about the person of their choosing.
