Philanthropy infrastructure is constantly being developed in Serbia. Online
donations through Donacije.rs are on the rise, and the largest foundations formed
the Coalition for Giving in order to develop the culture of giving and reform the
legal framework for giving in Serbia through the work of the Philanthropy Council.
For the first time since we have been tracking data on giving, the
largest sum of money was donated by citizens – 41% of the total
recorded sum.
Over 80% of all instances were directed towards 4 key themes – healthcare,
support to marginalized groups, poverty relief and education. All other
themes for giving are still underrepresented.
